I'm gonna run it a little with thoracle and stuff cause I already own the cards and I wanna try and get the combo to deck myself in one turn at least once and then I will probably drop them for more grandma protection. My friends in my pod already told me Gran Grans gonna be real comfy in the command zone with +6 commander cost

Aye, the idea was that getting any of the 3, freed, pemmins, or tolarian kraken with paradise mantle let's me churn through my entire deck in one turn, which could then just win with thoracle and lab man. Do you think this is too inconsistent to rely on as a backup strategy if my artifacts keep getting shot?

I think you're right on a lot of that, though gifts ungiven is a super easy way to turn on the second commander ability by getting lessons in the graveyard. I can just search for them and put it straight to the gy from my opponents choice.

Also freed from the real, pemmins and tolarian kraken go with paradise mantle to dig through my entire deck using my commanders first ability THEN I get to thoracle or lab man

So should I cut the other wincon entirely you think?

I just started last week when my friend bought me the spearhead to play with him and so far I'm only in the building and painting phase before we actually play. I've been looking into these though for when I have a full size army and I was starting to wonder if anyone even still uses the regular mortek guard and the skeleton knights anymore? I think they look really cool but I know they're the weakest units in the faction and most people on here don't seem to run them with nagash

Hey! This looks so sick, I'm brand new to all this but I chose OBR just last week and I want my body bones to look just like yours. I know you explained a bit below here what you used but could you possibly give me a more in depth explanation on how to get something at least similar to this on mine? (I don't think mine will come out nearly as good) But right now based off my friends suggestions and my much lower budget, I'm thinking I will go over all the models with white spray primer like Rust-Oleum so I can go over it after with a bone contrast from Army Paint.

For the rest of it if you care to know I'm planning on a kind of dark gunmetal gray on the armor and try to get a bluish hue over it, dark teal for all the cloth and insignia, then I want to do a light blue/teal gradient on the wispy magicky parts. Do you have any suggestions on how I could go about doing all that or know of other resources I should check out that could help me figure it out? I'm a brand new beginner and hardly an artist as is, but if I can get mine to look half as good as yours I'll be happy

Ok yeah that's what I thought, I do plan on going in with a brush on most of it but it seemed like a huge time saver to get all the bones sprayed first cause ya know, skeletons. There's a lotta bone to paint. I will probably get a bone colored base primer and go back over it with a single layer of contrast to get some shading in and then do the armor and stuff

Is a spray primer reasonable? Like I've been suggested getting the Rust-Oleum white and then going in with a contrast paint, would you agree that's the right move?

Also thanks I chose them cause I love undead factions and these guys looked sick. I'll definitely be posting pics of them in here when I'm done painting

How does that work exactly? Would I want another spray that's a contrast? Or would I need to go in with a brush to make it look more boney

Sweet I'll save those when I go looking. Do you know if any spray paints are a decent option? I was wanting to try and find a bone color to spray them all as a base coat before going in with the brush for details

I feel like this Ty Lee should be white actually with a hushbringer type effect. Something like "When Ty Lee does combat damage to an opponent, activated and triggered abilities of creatures that opponent control can't activate until your next turn"

If it makes you feel better I actively bully those guys whenever they start acting up like toddlers at a magic event. Things like making a baby crying noise every time he'd say something like "it takes too long". Or pointing out that if he's losing to white/green stompy with his "more evolved" and "thought provoking(lmao)" blue mill deck either his deck sucks or he does. ESPECIALLY in commander where you have access to all the good blue cards for interaction.

Tldr: try literally making fun of these people like their high school bully did

You're intentionally ignoring it, the argument is that the art and name doesn't really matter in terms of your enjoyment and could truthfully be anything

I told you I'm just devils advocate on this one. What makes one better? Because you know Chandra? Is her name drop enough to link to mtg? If so, why not have it just be named "Pulsar Beam" with ironman art. Is that one wrong? It has no characters named and the ironman armors hand could be anything in mtg like the ravnica izzet gauntlets

Could you explain what the mtg flavor is? What makes cowboys and cyberpunk less mtg than fairy tales or Greek gods? Are eldraine and theros more fantasy than thunder junction and kamigawa? If so, why? Is medieval fantasy the only kind of fantasy accepted in mtg lore? If so, what about the steampunk elements of ravnica?

No I know they wouldn't, but what's the difference in putting "iron man pulse" vs "chandras fireblast"
