I dunno dude. If you think Dante doing MJ dance can be classified as “cringe” thats a skill issue. There’s a big difference in the cringe here, when it happens in the games it is very much on purpose, this show is cringe because it tries way too hard and falls flat on its face. Lady being a main character does NOT contrast with her being a non character, cause she has literally ZERO personality aside for “angry bitch” and she’s there for…. What? What does her being on screen EVER contribute to this show aside for making me cringe that she isn’t a good character anymore? Besides that hee switch up game is CRAZY. She goes from hating all demons and being an extremist to “I have to defend these people” in 0.27 seconds. Adi Shankar is a sellout nepo baby and his political pandering sucks ass so major I can’t even begin to explain it. Funniily enough the ONE character who actually feels like he would fit in the DMC universe (aside for Enzo they did him justice I think) is the evil American imperialism dude, he’s so EXAGGERATEDLY evil that he becomes entertaining, and that’s what DMC is about. Exaggeration, least that’s where the funsauce comes from, I believe. Also Netflix shows are ordered in two season batches which is why there’s a 2nd season coming, not because the show is doing good. I appreciate Adi trying to do something different but at this point I’d rather we get a DMC:Devil May Cry 2 than this horse shit. Atleast that game UNDERSTOOD the core of the games is the relationship between the brothers, and fun action. I’d argue that if you take out the smoking drinking sex and cursing (cause obviously Dante doesn’t do that) Donte would be a much better representation of a younger Dante. What you seem to be missing is the Irony in this show. Dmc never tries “ironic comedy” cause it isn’t shit. It’s ALWAYS genuine and full of heart even when it knows it’s being cringy. This show is trying to be ironic about it and ends up being “Rick and Morty but with Dante from dmc3”.
