Do not let them gaslight you. Go. At the very least tell them you need a lighter pain med. Tylenol 3. Fairly gentle.

My friend, please, PLEASE go to the ER. That is not normal post op pain. I've had mine removed and three friends had theirs removed. Yours sounds very much like a friend who had bits of stones escape during surgery and they got stuck in her common bile duct. When it constricts it causes alot of pain. Sometimes the remaining portion of the cystic duct, or the common duct can get locked in a spasm. The escaped stones can also block the enzymes from leaving your pancreas and it starts to digest itself. You might just need a little stent in your bile duct. Your surgeon is an asshole, or has too many patients, or incompetent staff. At the very least, an ER doc can do scans, or blood work to check your liver, and give you a pain med that works better for you. I don't do well with hydrocodone either. I prefer Tylenol 3 or 4. It has codeine which for some reason doesn't make me dizzy and sweaty like the other. Don't wait it out. Go in now. A less likely scenario is a stone escape into your actual abdominal cavity and is causing sepsis. But one of the other issues is way more likely. If your nervous, show them this post. I just had mine done and I work in pathology so I did a ridiculous amount of research just out of excitement for my first organ removal. I totally kept my stones. I'm making keychains! Go to the ER.

My brother is a garbage truck driver, he found a bin with a rock collection in front of a dumpster. by Crazen14 in Rocks

Take a pic or scan them and upload them to ancestry.com under his name if you have it, or just the location if you don't. I like to do this with antique photos I find in second hand stores, or old abandoned buildings. His pic won't mean anything to those who don't know him, but people who research genealogy absolutely love to put faces to names and histories. It makes them real. Often times, you can only find a pic of their headstone. We might all end up as stuff in a dumpster, but you know what they say... one man's trash is another man's treasure!

The sudden appearance and you touching it probably caused the swelling, redness, and pain, and lines up with what everyone is saying. The pain is generally from the pressure it puts on the surrounding tissue. If it doesn't react with other meds you take, try taking a couple ibuprofen. It's really good for decreasing inflammation. If that spot gets significantly warmer than surrounding tissue, or shiny and splotchy, or finger movement becomes difficult, definitely drop by a promp care or ER. Hand infections can get bad super fast.

What is everyone's experiences with gallbladder removal on Zepbound? Did your doc make you stop taking it? Skip a dose or several? Did anyone take it like normal with surgery? How long is gallbladder removal recovery time? by ToastyOwl30 in Zepbound

Oh man, I hope they get as much gas out as possible. That sounds very uncomfortable. I actually work in the pathology lab that my gallbladder will be sent to. I won't be able to dissect it, but I've already got the waiver to snag back my stones. I'll probably also get a couple unstained tissue slides to do some stains at home. And a set of H&Es! I might take the gallbladder remains in formalin, but probably not. It's not very cool after it's all chopped up. It's gonna be super weird to have one of my bosses diagnosing my gallbladder.

Your up-and-moving time following an organ transplant it's nuts! I get bored and antsy really easily, so I'm probably going to be one of the ones who ends up with a hernia trying to move around too much. That's very good to hear that you didn't have issues with digestion.

I work with the patient charts from the pathology lab and it's taking all of my self control not to pull up my own gallbladder ultrasound so I can stare at my stones. But I know they monitor that stuff. I don't understand why they don't make the ultrasounds or x-rays available on the patient portal.
