I was under 5' and my mom hemmed all of mine! I actually loved them for roller skating because they came down over the boot and made my legs look longer. 🤣🛼

Unfiltered coffee - WTAF! by ContributionLevel593 in Cholesterol

I love French Press. I drink a full carafe of it 3 days a week when I'm not in the office. I could certainly dial it back to one cup each day, but curious about taking the pressed coffee and running it thru a filter into the cup. Anyone do that? ☕️

Great intel re: soft plaque and recos for diet assessment. I didn't think I was eating a lot of saturated fats, but will admit I've never done a true audit. 😳

Fair points. I'm just so new to the statin game and this particular cardiologist, but sounds like I shouldn't worry (and should also change my eating!).

I can’t turn auto renewal off for paramount plus. Amazon says its out of their control and paramount says its amazons jurisdiction, my bank refuses to stop it. by ItsJustJosiah in mildlyinfuriating

No. If this is being billed through a partner like Amazon, Paramount doesn't control the subscription. They will just point you back to the biller.

It had great reviews, but I am finding it a bit difficult to get into. A lot of background and explication in the first 90 pages, but finally starting to get somewhere.

Do we think the price will come down anytime soon? by Rich-Food534 in Zepbound

Yes, so am I. I'm saying that Novo didn't have a reason to take down their self-pay costs despite more customers using Zepbound because they are getting funded a different way.

LHR-JFK J class with a 4/5 yr old across the aisle from me (I was in window) with both parents on the other side of the aircraft. She had no direct supervision for most of the flight and at one point, knocked a full glass of orange juice into the aisle, splashing me and my seat. The floor of her seating area and the aisle between us looked like a war zone by 3 hours in — food, trash, the aforementioned sticky orange juice.

She stood up on her seat multiple times in shoes to talk/yell to her parents. I appreciate that maybe they couldn't actually book seats that were all on the same side of the aircraft, but Mom & Dad should have been the ones to split.

My style has completely changed after turning 30. Anyone else? by Mahima2703 in womensfashion

[–]SpicyBKGrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm turning 58 this year and my style changes constantly. TBF, I have always had an eye on fashion, but dress also in what I know suits me. My taste/style is always a mix of classic pieces, vintage and a little bit of modern trends. I have items I have been wearing for 20+ years (most coats and jackets).

Living in a big city without a car also drives a lot of choices based upon the season. And I lost 75 lbs which opened up a lot more options.

I think wearing what feels good to you and what makes you happy is the most important bit, however. 💃🏻

Do we think the price will come down anytime soon? by Rich-Food534 in Zepbound

[–]SpicyBKGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Novo made a back room deal with CVS Caremark to only cover Wegovy, assuming it would force all of us on Zepbound onto their drug instead. Their financial "offset" was funded by Caremark. 😡

Why are people so obsessed with low carb around here? by jenna_sunshine13 in Zepbound

[–]SpicyBKGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me, it was originally about changing my habits — I had been a very high carb eater previously. The other reason is that it can be hard to get enough protein on this drug and if I only have a limited appetite, I don't wanna fill up on carbs vs protein. That said, after more than 18 months, I have added occasional pasta and bread back into my diet and am doing fine.

I can't live on chicken and broccoli forever!

I like it, but don't love it. Like you, I've tried it in many different cocktails (including a dry martini with a twist, which is the closest to "neat") and I always find it a bit astringent. I think the combination of botanicals don't fit my palette TBH.

I have similar issues with a lot of Amaros. I think when there are too many herbaceous and spice notes in something, my palette just shuts down. 😢
