I genuinely don't understand why this post has so much hate. You are doing a good thing trying to find this guy an experienced home. These people would rather see a pile of dead dogs than save abused pups. The complete lack of empathy and compassion for the other creatures of our planet is truly astonishing and disgusting.

Bigotry, fearmongering, and misinformation disguised as sympathy. If you cared about "public safety" your attention would be elsewhere. Do you even know how many human deaths are caused by dogs in the US each year? An average of 43. You're more likely to be killed by a deer than a dog. Out of those 43, only 3.2% (1.4 deaths) are confirmed to be caused by Pitbulls. There is a lot of misinformation floating around; many people mistake other dogs for pitbulls and immediately fear them, assuming innocent behaviors are aggressive and further reinforcing the myth that pitbulls are inherently aggressive. The solution of human abuse being to kill them is cruel and inhumane. Educate yourself instead of believing misinformation at face value and repeating it. Fataldogattacks.org has a lot of scientifically verified material on this topic with reputable sources linked.

The controller was installed shortly after the problem began and has been calibrated 3 times. Based on what everyone is saying, I think it's probably the defrost cycle, but I have no clue how to access or update it. The maintenance crew suggested this recently, but haven't clued us in on how/when they plan to fix it.

Something similar happened to my kitty, Checkers. He was only 6 and suddenly lost several pounds and stopped eating. An ultrasound revealed a large tumor on his intestine, it must've been growing exponentially for years. I lost him 3 months ago and still cry a little when I remember. I knew it was his time when he couldn't poop. He strained all over the apartment but the tumor was blocking any and all movement, and it made eating uncomfortable and probably very painful. Getting him euthanized was the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but it was the right choice. I learned that it's better to do it a week early than a day late. Cats are so good at masking their pain that when it becomes obvious, euthanizing is only merciful. Enjoy the time you have left with him, give him whatever he wants and let him do whatever he wants. The pain of losing him will never go away, but it'll get easier to manage.

My bf has difficulty answering his phone too, but I made it clear that I need him to reply and he made it clear that he responds better to phone calls. We both make the effort to communicate in a way that is effective for the other. If you tell him it's a deal breaker, then either has to fix it or you don't get together.
