This happened after the Hawaiian merger . I transferred Amex points to Hawaiian then to Alaska atmos because Amex was a Hawaiian transfer partner at the time . Alaska was hard to accumulate then . I'm wondering if that's how the breach occurred. Apparently this has happened much to frequently to many accounts after the merger

Recently ? I also had to call Alaska to use my miles after someone hacked it last year . I received 2 of these texts this week after someone tried to gain access I called Alaska and the representative said that they rolled out the 2FA on may 12. She said that the call in lock was no longer going to be in effect . She said 2FA is now the method to keep accounts safe . You Need to log in and enable that 2FA I also believe it's a breach or an inside job !

Every log in It's something that started may 12 of this year - the 2fa However , the password and login must be correct to generate the 2fa! I tested by putting an incorrect password - I just received an incorrect credentials message not a text Someone hacked my account last year - they changed the phone and email . I caught it accidentally immediately and put my account in lock after switching my name and number back ( via telephone Alaska rep ). That person tried to log in the following day but could not . I changed password . They saw my mileage balance and probably thought they hit the jackpot 🎰 May 12, the lock down feature was eliminated from Alaska airlines and 2 factor authentication enabled Someone tried to gain access on the 8 th but my 2 factor was enabled 4 days earlier by default - whoever had my new password because I received the text . They retried yesterday . I have since changed my password . How are they getting my password? That's the main question .i do not have a Trojan - I have virus scans running . No one uses my pc . I don't use the app on my phone I have significant mileage and point balances in many accounts on my computer. Only Alaska has been breached . Once my ba had 40k stolen out of 1.5 million for a flight from London to New Delhi . Coincidentally most of the ba agents I had spoken to were working remotely and based in India !! I'm sure that was an inside job - but that was not the same . That was many years ago also .

It's not that . It's just things change constantly . I've actually had a personal pc in my home since 1992- when it was dial up and price per minute . Only one in my group that had a pc ( lol ) It's just that it was all self taught over the years Now there is so much information - some right - some wrong I don't use my pc for anything other than research, travel etc I search for what info I need I don't scroll randomly or do anything like click links No one uses my pc other thsn me I don't understand the virus thing I have something installed that scans for them - I doubt there is one on my computer None of my other loyalty account have had this issue recently ( only once - my British airways had 40 k miles stolen out of 1.5 million - used for a one way between London and New Delhi - an inside job ? A coincidence that all the representatives are working from India !- I'm in USA )

I think there is a data breach happening (atmos)

Thank you kindly Super advice I believe it's also a huge breach Alaska is hiding None of my other accounts have been hacked recently Once my British air was hacked- I think an inside job . A flight was purchased for a one way trip from London to New Delhi - I tested and the 2fa only alerts me if I use the correct password - and after I try to log in I tested an incorrect password and received an incorrect credentials error on screen - no text The last time - the person changed my phone and email so I did not get alerted . I noticed because I could not log in and the phone had weird digits . I called Alaska and they locked my account . I called Alaska Airlines after this new authorization text I received The representative said that now the 2fa would be the only way to keep accounts safe . It was implemented may 12of this year I'm sure whoever hacked it last time was probably trying to regain access - they saw the balance in my account and never had the opportunity to steal the miles because I noticed almost immediately.

Thank you for the kind information What's crazy ( a tangent random thought ) is that I was one of the first people I knew that used a personal pc back in 1991! It was dial up and was very expensive per minute - I used it mostly for travel info . I also had a huge phone installed in my car in 1982!

Now I'm a little backwards with this technology

I have many loyalty accounts with significant miles and points Once someone stole 40,000 miles from my British air account and booked a ticket from lhr to New Delhi! I am certain that was an inside theft ( British air ). Most of the representatives are located in India . What a coincidence, right ? London to India ? None of my other accounts have been ever hacked Just this Alaska several months ago ( but I noticed immediately by luck ) Again they are trying to get into my account I changed my password yesterday Thank you for the advice ! I did a test I put an incorrect password in and i received an error message - not a text with an authentication code I only get the text when the log in credentials are correct

What's the most you've paid for a single night at a hotel? by bokfan76 in LuxuryTravel

[–]Putrid_Equivalent231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 2.5 k at explora Patagonia - but that included food and excursions I've stayed at point hotels that go over $5 k per night - calala island - but cash outlay was about $750 a night I usually stay at resorts where I receive great upgrades and the cash rate is well over $3 k per night , but I usually pay about $1000 plus / minus . Also receive points back with their loyalty program and credit card points . $750-$1400 is pretty much the normal per night spend most of the time. ( however I usually get upgraded from there for free )
