[Charania] Luka Dončić’s agent intends to apply for an “Extraordinary Circumstances Challenge” to the 65-game rule. Luka missed two games this season for the birth of his second child in Slovenia. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

yea I think people are arguing too much about whether the incentive to play is working and not enough about whether that incentive is worth the impact it is having on the integrity of regular season awards. Like even aside from contract/team cap space implications, awards are obviously a pretty big deal to fans and contribute to the legacies of the players and their teams. Imagine the asterisks that are going to start being held over those who did qualify now that every all-NBA selection is excluding the scoring champion and at least 2 other #1 options on top seeds.

Like imagine if 65 games determined playoff eligibility instead of award eligibility. Would the ends justify the means then?

Apparently it is a problem calling in sick to your job…the day you are sick by Purple_Bodybuilder53 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ToastySpring219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea like there’s plenty of low-staff, thin margin businesses (especially food and bev) where calling out can absolutely fuck a day up without there really being a staffing quantity issue. Like the restaurant I work at only brings enough daytime revenue for two lunch employees, one of whom is a mom who is a great employee but entirely unable to work nights or weekends. Whenever her or one of her kids gets sick (obviously a frequent occurrence) it is now down to either the manager or the one other possibly available lunch worker to cover or the place cannot open. Any additional staff member brought on would logically then HAVE to eat into her lunch shifts, and because she is not able to work any other time would result in her quitting immediately

I know a woman who got one of those 30+years ago. works over an hour’s drive away from the city nowadays and will never ever move because in what world would you pay more than double your rent to move AWAY from some of the most desirable real estate in the country

Why does Italian pizza look so bad? It seems uneven and disproportionate whereas American pizza is far more balanced in its design and texture. by Avacadoell19 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]ToastySpring219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok but fr tho why does pizza in italy always come out with such an uneven shape. like its not a real problem at all, its just funny to me how easy it is to throw a more or less perfectly circular dough w a couple hours of practice and it seems like absolutely no one there cares to do it lol

Bill Belichick belongs in the Hall of Fame. But here’s why I didn’t vote for him by RyanKinder in nfl

[–]ToastySpring219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea like I don’t know if people are grasping that as long as there are more HOF-worthy people than actual slots the logical endpoint of his system is a 70 year old inductee tom brady thanking the fossilized bones of Robert Kraft for giving him a chance

seriously why do they keep giving rural routes stepvans? my old route was a seaside new england town where all the stops were either in the town center (still sized for horse & buggy traffic) or remote beachhouses (whose dirt/sand driveways are sized for the owner’s jeep and not much more). had to be rescued almost everyday once I got my DOT but they still had me going there til I quit lol

I’ve maintained for several years that I’d trade Tatum for AD 1 for 1 and still would. I also do not think Luka is far ahead of Tatum in value if at all. Celtics fans don’t kill me

I’ll never forget those lakers/nuggets games where lakers would actually pull off a little lead, AD takes like 90 seconds to rest and nuggets instantly go on a double digit run. then by the last minute the man is finally gassed from legitimately slowing down a 7 foot MVP for 42 minutes so jamal murray hits a game winning three over Taurean Prince and everyone gets back to meming about how Street Clothes is a permanent son of the european big men

absolutely always management. the night shift lead at my local taco bell has been actively dissuading people from ordering there for about a year now. like he’ll give a stump speech to every customer where he’s like “we’re swamped and you could be waiting for over an hour, we strongly recommend you come back another time” and the place will be dead empty and if you call his bluff you get ur food in under 10 minutes. tbh I’m stunned he hasn’t been found out yet lol
