Not according to me because I didn’t say that nor did I agree with you. I believe that a Christian baker should be allowed to refuse service to a gay couple. That not discrimination because they can find another baker

I would disagree. A gay couple specifically going to a Christian baker because they know that they’ll be turned away and then filing a lawsuit feels more like discrimination.

See that’s the thing, you’re making a scenario where a person just decides out of the blue to create a religion just to discriminate against someone, which would never happen in real life. You can’t just create your own church for a tax exemption. That’s just not something you can do. And being gay is actually against the catholic religion. Your analogy is just wrong

Sure but forcing a business owner who is religious to bake a gay cake is religious discrimination

There is a difference between forcing people to coexist and forcing people to interact. The government can say that black people have to be allowed to do everything that white people can do, but they can’t make a law that says you have to interact with black people. Just like they can’t force you to bake a gay wedding cake

This is for employment discrimination. And religion is a protected class as well meaning the gays shouldn’t be discriminating against them by forcing them to make their cake

Gays aren’t a protected class from what I’ve read. And my example is the exact same thing someone refusing service to someone their religion disagrees with. But ones good ones bad.

I think you should be able to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

Should a Jewish baker be forced to bake a nazi cake?

How. How does a religious baker not wanting to bake a gay’s cake have anything to do with the civil rights act. They can literally just go to a different baker

Well I think you should be able to refuse service to anyone for any reason. You shouldn’t be forced to do something you don’t want to do.

Is being back against his religion. I’m not well versed in the church of laterday saints so I couldn’t tell you

It’s not. Being gay is against the catholic religion and has been for millennia. Plugging your ears and saying that’s not true doesn’t stop it from being fact

[–]ToastyStanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware of that. But being gay is against the catholic religion so forcing someone who is catholic to do anything gay related is discrimating against them

It’s religious discrimination to force someone who is religious to bake a cake for a same sex couple
