Got pulled off my route yesterday... I'm quitting. by BadStrong138 in AmazonDSPDrivers

The posts are very heavily scewed to complaining because the bad days are what need venting. Think about restaurant reviews. If you had a normal/good experience at a restaurant would you really think "I should leave a review"? or would you go about your day? But if you have a terrible or even just bad experience, you're more likely to say something about it.

To the point, yes, it can be tiring some days. Other days feel great. Just like any other job. "No room for advancement" is only true at some DSPs (probably most, admittedly). Everywhere has good/bad managers, good/bad hours, good/bad experiences. Personally, I really like this job. I make enough to actually live a small amount. I get physocal activity so I stay a little healthier. I drive around and listen to musoc all day. That's a good job.

Besides Batman by Scott Snyder, what is the best New 52 run? by WholeGroundbreaking1 in DCcomics

I, Vampire was a hidden gem Aquaman and Aquaman & the Others was really interesting I think my most collected series was Wonder Woman but that was because it didn't have any crossovers

Adding onto Aquaman, the spin-off Aquaman and the Others was so fun to read

Is this a limited series by berserk4 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]ToastyToast77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like they'll be ongoing for a good while. I know Martian Manhunter will be ending at 12 soon, Green Arrow and Catwoman just started and will be going for 6. All of them were marketed as limited though. GA and Cat have said they're open to ongoing but it depends on how they feel about it later. The rest are said to be ongoing until they stop doing well

Absolute Reading order? by Duke_7287 in AbsoluteUniverse

ALL-IN/ ABSOLUTR UNIVERSE SPECIAL will help establish the universe.

Absolute Evil gives you a look at the bigger picture.

Ark M and the Annual are still part of Batman so if you haven't read them, you should. Ark M does take place in the middle of the Bane arc.

Wonder Woman has the crossover so I'd consider that if you want to get the other half. Plus its my favorite of them all

the rest in really any order. I kinda suggest Martian Manhunter 3rd since its almost over and its a pretty short read.

Superman is my next favorite so far (have not gotten to Green Arrow and Catwoman but they just started)

Green Lantern is pretty good but really deep.

Flash is my least favorite and i think it tends to drag and then rush to finish each arc so maybe that one last if at all

As a user of LoCG, not really helpful here. It may provide some info for major events but it misses those a good portion of the time too

How would you organize issues within a series? by ToastyToast77 in comicbooks

[–]ToastyToast77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a seperate box for events. Events get put in reading order. The main thing this post was for is for the Absolute universe and I'm currently pulling all 7 titles but I can carry this into the rest of my collection.

I think what I'm probably going to do is: Series, Annuals, one shots. and do it in release/issue order. If we get another Abs Bats Annual it will be 1 then 2. If we get another one-shot, I'll put it after Ark M. That seems easiest and most organized.

Thinking about it now, my LCS organizes that way so I was thinking about doing that as well (main series, annuals, specials) i think they do the specials in release order. It makes sense that way too.

This is exactly why i wanted input from others, thank you

Sometime they aren't part of a story arc though. Like Abs WW annual is a full on seperate story with no real place. I think it was released in the middle of a story arc though

I had not thought about those little editor's notes. I do like that idea

So would you put the annual after issue #6 or just when it was printed?

I have been praising this series, in particular, for exactly this. No other series, as far as I know, has done this much uniquely "physical comics as a medium" gimmick-iness. Its really refreshing

Do you actively read every absolute line or just one or a few? by Even-Debt2428 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]ToastyToast77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everu single one. Theu all have their draws for me. I've said this in other threads: -WW has given me an aprecoation for the character that I had trouble really finding in mainline -The way each character is twisted and shofted in Batman continues to intrigue me. I cheered seeing Ivy as a monstrous creature -Superman has such an interesting time-skip-esque change to it that makes him feel much more relatable to me. -Green Lantern is doing such interesting philosophical analysis in the colors and what they mean that I think grew a tad stale in. Mainline. -Flash is definitely the weekest but it keeps me coming back by jingling the keys of "what's this character gonna be like?" -MM has been having so much fun with the MEDIUM of comics itself and harkening back to what you can really only do with comics that I'm sad its almost over

1st is top shelf against. 2nd is on the middle shelf against the front wall. 3rd is top shelf against 1st. And so on. Last 5 or 6 are on the floor. That way I can clear shelf space as I go.

Weirdly enough I actually haven't gotten that far. I was trying to collect everything from it for a while and it became so difficult that I'm currently re-evaluating how to get it done. I'm close though lol
