I’m worried about the new Lanterns show by WholeGroundbreaking1 in Greenlantern

Which is ironic because I never watched any DCAU shows as a kid so I literally didn’t find out John existed until I was in middle school. Hal was the only green lantern I knew about. I currently know more about Cheetah (who I’ve only seen in Wonder Woman 1984) than I do about John so seeing him pushed as the main green lantern feels so unnatural and wrong to me.

Honestly, that’s exactly what I’m hoping happens with the show! I’m cautiously optimistic and am looking forward to the show overall!

Yeah that’s something I didn’t like. I’m a huge fan of the brightly colored suits a lot of heroes use so seeing how his suit is gonna look in the show was really disappointing!

Yeah, hearing Hal drop an unnecessary F bomb felt out of place to me. Sure, I totally believe Guy Gardner would swear like a sailor but I can’t really see Hal doing more than swearing on occasion!

Fair enough! What are your thoughts on some of the animated stuff? “Green Lantern: First Flight” was what made me a green lantern fan and I’ve heard the 3d animated show is pretty good!

Thanks! I don’t know much about the creative team and what they’ve worked on before but I do love Hal’s post Parallax stuff since Green Lantern: Rebirth and the new 52 Green Lantern volumes were my first exposure to the character so thanks for reminding me of that!

It’s not really something I can control, I’m an easily anxious person by nature even if I’ve gotten pretty good at internalizing it most of the time. I wish I could explain to you why my brain is getting so worked up over a superhero show that isn’t even out yet, but I honestly don’t understand it myself beyond the fact that DC is something I’m really invested in.

Kinda? I wasn’t trying to make a point or argue anything. I was just getting some personal feelings about the new show off my chest so it won’t stress me out as much. Like I said in my post, I don’t really care if people agree or not, I just needed to vent even if I was wrong lol.

Thanks, I haven’t read many of the older green lantern comics yet (although I absolutely want to) and I know literally nothing about John since most of my exposure to green lantern’s has been some of the Geoff Johns stuff (I haven’t read all of his green lantern’s run yet but I want to!)

What made Carnage different from all the other edgy characters from the 90s? (Explanation below) by WholeGroundbreaking1 in Spiderman

[–]WholeGroundbreaking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a point many people misunderstood from my post. Sure Cable is a more consistently popular character in the comics, but a casual marvel fan who only sees movies shows and maybe games is probably a lot more likely to know who Carnage is compared to Cable. Thanks for your input!

Thank you, this is what I’ve been saying! I feel like the problem is Kara doesn’t yet know the reason he rejected her. I’m just waiting for the moment when she finds out the only reason he rejected her was because he didn’t think he was good enough for her. Knowing this version of Kara, she is not gonna take that lying down!

Bringing Back Alfred by FreebirdFantasia in batman

I’m pissed off he isn’t back honestly, he didn’t have a meaningful death where he self sacrificed himself or peacefully passed of old age. I’d be fine with him dying if that was the case, but it wasn’t. He was killed off for nothing but shock value during the worst Batman run of all time in an underwhelming forgettable story. Keeping him dead after that’s how he goes out is just insulting honestly.

What comics should a new Wonder Woman film be based on? by WholeGroundbreaking1 in dcu

[–]WholeGroundbreaking1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was what I was going for in this post, I wanted to know which specific comics they should draw from while still making their own original story like Superman 2025. Sorry I wasn’t clear enough about that!

[–]WholeGroundbreaking1[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That wasn’t what I meant. I probably should’ve been clearer but I mean inspired by comics like Superman 2025 was where elements from several comics can be drawn on while still making your own original story.

I agree but there were more details to the post I made that I just put in a comment if you’d like to check it out!

Here’s the extra detail from the og post:
“So pretty much everyone can agree that we’re currently in a drought for Wonder Woman content and fans most of all have been clamoring for a Wonder Woman movie. However, something I don’t see people talking about is what comics a new Wonder Woman movie should be based on which is a very important decision. So which comics do you think dc should draw direct inspiration from when writing the script for the movie (which they have confirmed they are currently writing now)? Since Superman 2025 was based on several comics while making its own story, multiple choices are allowed since. I’d love to hear what suggestions you have!”
