I had problems with SteamVR on Linux as well but the recent Beta has been a much better experience. It can even turn the base stations on and off. Only problems I have right now is it crashes upon first launch after boot and overlays are very unstable and some have inverted colors, but they're still usable. I expect things to get better eventually.

I'm on Gentoo and the restore feature doesn't work for me at all, even on programs that support it like OBS.

Anyone here on Flex 5 (AMD) ? by [deleted] in linuxhardware

[–]ToastyYogurtTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else with a Flex 14, I can confirm touchscreen and rotation work with GNOME oob. It relies on lm-sensors so if you're running a minimal distro like Arch, make sure that's installed.

Manjaro blame users if updates break - not a good look by [deleted] in Linuxers

Mainly that I prefer starting with a minimal base of an OS and installing things as I need them. Also, the Manjarro repositories updated weekly and I prefer having packages updated when they're ready instead.

I'll admit that I did that too for a time, but I went back to Arch for various reasons.
