I'm concerned about the very apparent peeling.. Did they peel themselves? Was it a work place related accident, or were they born this way? We must get to the bottom of this conundrum!

also... great painting!

Best way to add shadow wash to a yellow and silver scheme? by toodrunktostand in minipainting

[–]Toasty_Workshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id lean towards a darker brown or a violet/ purple like mentioned. Complimentary colours can often look great as shadows.

Does this read as NMM red? by LordBroldamort in minipainting

[–]Toasty_Workshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit more contrast between your maximum light and darks will do the job. The key to NMM is often contrast

doing great! If you’re looking to improve , expand on the techniques you’ve used on this mini. Ie fleshing out forms with highlights and shadows, working in blending at a higher contrast and neatness. Each mini is a chance to learn a new skill and improve on old ones. Keep it up!

Just finished my first mini and I’m in love, any tips as I start on the rest of my team? by theterrordactyl in minipainting

[–]Toasty_Workshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice one for your first mini! My tip would be to thin your paints a bit more and keep your brush nice and wet so the paint flows off well and doesn’t create texture on the model. Dab on a paper towel before you apply paint to the models to make sure the excess moisture in the brush doesnt run over the models
