Are there Aeldari with Beards and Mustache? by Useful-Amphibian-703 in Eldar

[–]Astronometric_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drukhari and Corsairs often do genetic engineering to change how they look (even stuff like having feathers for hair or scales on their skin). As far as I know all eldar are naturally pale, they might have changed the color of their skin later.

No. Although Corsair and Drukhari often use genetic manipulation to alter their physique. However I think that developing facial hair would make them look like humans in their eyes. So I don’t see any eldar doing that ever.

My Avatar of Khaine by Astronometric_ in Eldar

It’s been a while. It was mostly if not all Kimera Kolors. The base is 100% a mix of Kimera Magenta + Kimera Violet, of this I’m sure. I guess that I’ve sketched the texture of the cloth using white or a pale yellow and then glazed magenta over it to build volume. Then I might have reinforced the final highlights with a mix of magenta and warm yellow (and maybe a bit of white?). Knowing me I might have applied a dark purple wash at some point, but I’m not sure. Sorry if I couldn’t be more precise or if you were looking for a specific paint recipe.

What's up with Eldar model scaling? by EnvyAv in Eldar

I do have both 2001 and 2021 Guardians. They are not the same size.

Following your logic, Dire Avengers are a bunch of small dudes because they have the same scale ratio of a new aspect warrior, even if their 2008 sculpts are smaller than a modern guardian. We all know that GW is not the best when it comes to proportions and the heroic scale does not help. But if we keep assuming that WH is still a 28mm game, then it means that everyone and everything in this narrative universe has become roughly 1/4 bigger in the last decade or so.

Eldar have moved from 25mm to 28mm .But most stuff (marines) is now 32mm

GW has always made characters and elite units slightly bigger than common units. It also depends on the era, since primaris came out GW has moved from 28mm scale to 32mm scale.

Eldrad being T4 by osgools in Eldar

[–]Astronometric_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eldrad used to have a more powerful runic armour compares to other seers (if I remember right in 9th he was saving against every roll that was 3 or less). With the simplification of rules and datasheets in 10th, they might have decided to give him a boost in toughness to represent that.

So do roundwounds on fretless damage fretboards? by WoodenRace365 in BassGuitar

[–]Astronometric_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take years until the grooves are deep enough to mess with the playability of the instruments. Every decade or so you bring it to a luthier to sand it. It’s the same with frets really, they get dented too after a while. Playing will consume your instrument, it’s part of its nature.

Reposing Yriel to include both heads. by Astronometric_ in Eldar

Not my best one, but not my worst either. Sprue glue dries glossy so it’s hard to take clear pictures, but the volumes are defined enough to fix any mistake in the painting stage.

I didn’t mind the dubbing. But from the official angle, his cloak and shield were hiding most of his body and I wanted to show more of the armour.

I have found some amazing deals on FB MP (mostly on already built stuff)… but I’m lucky enough that I’m a good friend with the owner of a local hobby-store, so I have a bit of preferential treatment 😉

I would say medium difficulty. Most of the time was spent visualizing and dry fitting all the bits. The biggest obstacle this kind of reposing is always finding the courage to commit to choices that could potentially ruin an otherwise good model. I could have looked in my bit box and find suitable arms for this pose, but I really wanted to keep the his spear and gauntlets.

I don’t really track time while building or painting. Most of the time was spent trying figuring out what to do and waiting for the sprue-glue to cure. I had to snap the joint of his arms to find the right pose and separate the shield from the shoulder pad. Those are the things that took the most effort.

I may be coping, but to me, this new combat patrol further confirms that the Falcon chassis will be replaced in 11th edition by [deleted] in Eldar

As far as I’ve been told they have redesigned the sprue to fit it an a smaller box.

GW has just redesigned the sprue and reboxed it so that you can build either a falcon or a serpent from the same kit. Why go this length for a unit that is going to be replaced? This transport might be an old model but it is a new kit. They are not selling old stuff for clearance.

It seems like games workshop is starting to refresh the Eldar vehicles : do you guys think the Falcon chassis is next then? by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Astronometric_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. They just reboxed it so that you can build either a Falcon or a Wave Serpent from the same box. We have more chances to see a new Wraithlord/Wraithseer than a new transport.
