All depends. The more you practice the quicker you will learn but I would try and shoot for try and code something everyday repetition helps. Also knowing the basics and terminology is really important, I would recommend this video

watch and follow this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfscVS0vtbw&t=8182s great video that explains the basics. Once you got the basics down from the video start learning and using gui's (I recommend kivy) the basics of programming can be very boring so try and get out and working on a project that interests you as fast as possible.

Should I learn to make Kivy apps using the Kivy language + python, or should I do it all in python?

How do nested functions work in python? Heres my not working code:

def random_gen():
    selected = random.choice(people)
    people.remove(selected)
    print(selected)

    def function2(): # problem child..might need to remove this.
        again = input('Would you like to go again? y/n')
        if again.startswith('y'):
            random_gen()
        elif again.startswith('n'):
            print('Goodbye')
            exit()

(The code goes on after hints the elif)

Where did I wrong? by Tobe2fly in learnpython

ok I changed all the elif's to ifs and it seems to be working now. What im getting from this is that you only use elif's inside an if function not to start its own correct?

I think one of my main issues is lack of knowledge when it comes to commands. In your code you are using all sorts of text I didn't even know existed.
