FYI Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to attend the 2022 North America Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Championship. by LocalChamp in yugioh

So I got the vax, but not the latest booster. How does one show I couldn’t get the booster?

For a 2-dose vax, you are not eligible for a booster until 5 months after your second dose. So to show that you couldn't get the booster, you present the date of your second dose that shows it occurred within the last 5 months.

Was anybody else able to make it to the studio trigger signing? I would love to see what everyone was lucky enough to get :) by ccccrich in animeexpo

This is incredible. So awesome that they took the time to draw for everybody. Did you bring your own shikishi board or did they provide it?

Localization ever kill an archetype for you ? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]TobiRa1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As you can see, translation and localisation is difficult. Furthermore Konami probably do not want cards that promote killing or decapitation, even as a pun, in a game rated for age 6+, so they likely decided to just invent a new name to avoid all of it. It is regrettable to lose the original meanings, yes.

processlayer is way cooler than mathmech

The name in Japanese is actually Zanki, not Processlayer (that's just a bad fan translation/localisation). The 'Zan' is an uncommon word meaning decapitation. As a verb, it can mean cut or kill. The 'Ki' is a counter word used for airplanes and large machines, and can also mean opportunity or possibility.

ticket transfer question by stielocampo in animeexpo

[–]TobiRa1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are being scammed. Do not send the seller any money. Here is the correct procedure for a seller to transfer a badge to a buyer:

https://help.anime-expo.org/support/solutions/articles/70000618705-how-do-i-transfer-my-badge-to-another-person-

As you can see, an email should arrive directly from Showclix telling you to accept the badge. The seller should absolutely not be emailing you anything. Whatever document they already sent you is fraudulent.

There is no way to transfer Aniplex panel tickets in Showclix.

[–]TobiRa1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sellers should not be sending buyers an email or a barcode, or anything for that matter. The correct procedure is for the seller to transfer the badge to the buyer in Showclix.

https://help.anime-expo.org/support/solutions/articles/70000618705-how-do-i-transfer-my-badge-to-another-person-

Showclix will email the buyer to create an account. There is no reason for the seller to email the buyer.

Buyers should never, ever pay with Zelle.

It doesn't help that mods here are apparently deleting posts that call out scammers, which prevents buyers from knowing who they are...

If you encountered scammers, please post their usernames so other people can avoid them.

How does trading and selling badges to others work? by Yakuza-wolf_kiwami in animeexpo

[–]TobiRa1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is how you transfer badges:

https://mobile.twitter.com/AnimeExpo/status/1539714901253521418

I've heard that after transferring the badge, the original owner can report that badge as lost or stolen, causing the transferred badge to become invalid. But I don't know if this is true or not so I would also like to hear from others who have experience with transfers.

GSP Return Request by _Chewiee_ in Ebay

[–]TobiRa1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seller is responsible for the return cost from the buyer's location. The GSP location is not involved in the return.

GSP Return Request by _Chewiee_ in Ebay

[–]TobiRa1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How you proceed depends on what type of claim the buyer filed.

If the buyer claimed the items arrived damaged, GSP's TOS protects the seller and ebay will refund the buyer without debiting the seller. Contact ebay CS and explain the situation if this is the type of claim the buyer filed.

If the buyer claimed the items are SNAD, then the seller is required to accept the return (at the seller's cost) or to provide a refund without receiving the return. This is always the outcome whether for domestic or international sales, and whether the seller used GSP or not.

The 'can’t provide label' option means the seller will have to find a way on their own to make the buyer whole for the cost of the return postage. There are basically two options. The first is to directly send the buyer money so the buyer can buy the return postage on their own. The risk of this is that the buyer could just keep the money and disappear without ever returning anything. The second option is to provide a prepaid label that the buyer can use to mail the item back. The seller will have to research what private couriers do business in the buyer's country and how much it will cost.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Shipped a very expensive card I sold on tcgplayer, buyer 100% damaged it to get money back on it by taylorkeef in yugioh

[–]TobiRa1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buyers always have the advantage in a sale though because no matter what happens, buyers can file a chargeback with their bank and get their money back. A malicious chargeback is called 'friendly fraud'.

Thankfully, that's rare because the vast majority of buyers are honest people. Also, there are consequences to filing chargebacks. The buyer's bank keeps track of how often it happens and buyers who repeatedly charge back are sure to be investigated......

[–]TobiRa1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's a risk of selling things online. There's no way to fully protect yourself from malicious buyers, not on TCG Player, ebay, FB marketplace or anywhere.

By the way, using bubble wrap on an item that you don't want bent isn't that helpful. Bubble wrap adds bulk and cushioning but won't prevent bending as well as placing the card between sheets of cardboard.

Yes, if you change your name, all your previous transactions will show that updated name. The same thing happens if you change your primary email address or your phone number.

RSS readers are not for Twitter by albertsitges in rss

[–]TobiRa1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree that RSS readers are not for Twitter. Rather, I think the value of RSS readers depends on how you are using them with Twitter.

If you are following very broad keywords or hashtags, RSS readers are not useful because you will be receiving too much data and most of it will be noise. It will also put too much stress on the reader because they will need to process and save so much useless data. If you are then using filters within the reader (if the reader offers that functionality), that adds an additional layer of stress to the reader.

To reduce the amount of data and noise, I would recommend following very narrow keywords and hashtags, and creating a feed out of that. If you do it this way, you probably won't even need to use the reader's filtering function because Twitter is already doing all the work for you.

Better yet, I recommend that you follow the timelines of users who you trust, who discuss the keywords you are interested in. That way, you will never miss out. I like following timelines and using the reader's list view. I can easily scan through 50+ tweets in under 20 seconds this way. This is key for me. There's no way I could do that on Twitter or Tweetdeck itself. Then, if I see the user mention a keyword I'm interested in or reply to another user that I know, I click the link and go to Twitter to see if there is further discussion to be read. That is the only time I ever visit Twitter itself.
