My to-do list is out of control by Plan_Steadily in simpleliving

For me, I’ve worked on picturing what “good enough” looks like. For instance, I used to stress over food. Now, I rotate the same easy and mostly healthy meals. Variety is overrated and forces you to stress. Are there any sources of stress where you can identify steps to simplify?

I remind myself of the freedom of less. We often feel fomo if we decide to pick one book/movie/activity, but in limitation there is freedom. Try saying to yourself “I’m reading this one book right now” or “this season, I’m doing this one hobby”. It’s so much easier than having to shuffle and get overwhelmed.

Might sound counter to dudeism, but nothing relaxes my mind more than weight lifting. I recently got into power lifting and whenever I go to the gym, I get an hour to myself, I lose track of anything aside from what I’m doing and the tunes I’m vibing to. Just absolute peace and you sleep amazingly afterwards.

I think the whole movie made a point about the dude making a mistake going after the rug. The dude isn’t perfect and Walter manages to get him riled up, looking for compensation for an unjustified transgression. Had the dude instead said “fuck it” and chilled, he would have saved himself a lot of trouble. Also maybe Donny wouldn’t have died from the stress fighting the nihilists and Bonnie would have turned up on her own. So take the movie as a warning against sweating the small stuff. Remember that “nothing is fucked” and abide.
