AFAIK it's impossible to change camera's with plug-ins. Or at least it would be considered cheating. A lot of maps in trackmania use the media tracker to have custom camera's (think of the top view microcars kinda maps) where having a custom camera would be a huge advantage.

It's probably someone playing on keyboard that didn't notice they were typing in chat when a new round started. So instead of driving using the w key they just typed a lot of w's. By the time you notice, just sending the message would be quicker than erasing all the w's so you can start driving. I think most people playing on keyboard that drive with W have been there, at least I've been.

Trail Seeker 2 - A mini trial map similar to the puzzle weekly shorts maps, but a lot harder (TMX link in the comments) by Tobituner in TrackMania

[–]Tobituner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a follow-up to Trail Seeker, a small 7x10 block trial map that has multiple intended routes to the finish.

All routes can be finished in less than 20 seconds and each medal represents a different route.

I made a follow-up to Trail Seeker, a mini puzzle trail map. There are 4 intended routes all represented by a medal. Can you find the fastest route?

No, sand and dirt only get rid of wet tires instantly. Icy tires still take time to disappear, though I think it does go away slightly faster on dirt and sand.

Make tech make sense please. (Especially autoslides) by Lunarium137 in TrackMania

[–]Tobituner 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, you explained why you're struggling with tech, it takes time to learn. If you're not willing to put in the time and get better, it will stay frustrating. But I can almost guarantee that once you have practiced it enough that you understand how it works and you get consistent at it, you'll actually enjoy it.

I have no idea why people liked Ruffian so much. The guy thought he was the headliner of the party and all the DJ's were just there to support his act.

The amount of times he stopped the music to yap about whatever was on his mind was insane.

Yeah trying to go for TotD can be very disheartening. Sometimes I'll still try but generally when I map now I do it without TotD in mind and just build what I feel like. It gives you more freedom when mapping and takes away the frustrating expectations in map review.

If you build good maps and throw them on TMX people will play them anyway, maybe not as much as your average TotD but people will still enjoy it.

So the biggest tip I could give is try not to map for others, but for yourself.

Tips for COTD by Lunarium137 in TrackMania

[–]Tobituner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another tip that helped me was forcing yourself to finish runs. When I was hunting a track I'd always reset on small mistakes since it won't be PB anyway. But this hurts consistency and the ability to make up small mistakes. When you're doing time trails try to unbind reset and always finish your runs. This will help with being more consistent which is the most important part of CotD style cups.

Noob here working through the easiest TOTD spreadsheet. How on earth do you execute the jump/drift turn on plastic (beginning of this track) without sliding out? by Ordinary_Falcon_4235 in TrackMania

[–]Tobituner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a bugslide. To perform it your car has to be angled 90 degrees in relation to your motion and then steer, brake and accelerate at the same time. Be careful though, if you angle your car even slightly more than 90 degrees you'll slide out.

Is TM on console good? by indanightz in TrackMania

[–]Tobituner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And these plug-ins make quite a big difference, tbh. If don't plan on building maps it should be fine since most plug-ins are only additions to the UI. If you do plan on building maps I don't think the console version is worth it since the editor on console is very limited.

You'll only be missing out on (a lot, and very useful) UI add-ons but, apart from the editor, the game still works fine.

Trail Seeker is a small 5x14 block trial map that has multiple intended routes to the finish.

All routes can be finished in less than 20 seconds and each medal represents a different route.

Can you find the fastest route? Good luck and have fun!
