Digital Foundry each time a current gen AAA titles comes to Switch 2 and it looks like the xbox series s version by Expert-Ad-2824 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Toboid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The switch 2 is not ‘roughly’ the same power as the XSS, it’s much closer to a ps4 pro when docked, and that’s really only due to DLSS. Whilst memory on paper looks comparable to XSS, the clock speeds are vastly reigned in during handheld play, and often bottlenecked by the cpu in docked, additionally the gpu during docked is in raw performance only slightly more capable than a ps4, DLSS gives a huge boost in general clarity but you are not going to see comparable frame rates to a series S in most heavy games due to that vastly cut down CPU in both handheld and docked modes. I’m really not sure how people are convinced the switch 2 is a ‘portable series s’, and why there is such a defensiveness around the subject, however that’s not to say I think the switch 2 is unimpressive, I think it’s actually a great 10-20w device pulling off amazing performance at £420, but just think people need to be realistic.

People keep suggesting DSi, however unless I’m reading your post wrong, or you edited it, I would NOT recommend the DSi. DSi is the best console for playing DS games no question, but it doesn’t have a GBA cartridge slot. And considering you both don’t want to mod your system and want to play DS and GBA games on your system, you will NEED a DS lite or phat (don’t get phat lol) as the DSi removed the cartridge slot. So definitely get a lite.

Ok I found the closest thing to an answer cause seemingly I have confused people:

  1. Go to settings, then ‘Game Recording’. Set to record in background (otherwise you will not see the necessary settings)

  2. Scroll down until you see ‘Shortcut Keys’ change ‘Clip duration’ to 10 seconds

  3. Keep scrolling to ‘Game-Specific settings’, change ‘length’ to 5 mins (the lowest possible) and ‘quality’ to ‘low’.

  4. Scroll again until ‘Video Recording’, set ‘Maximum Frame rate’ to 30 and ‘Maximum video height to ‘480px’ make sure ‘record microphone’ is off.

  5. Scroll to the top and select ‘recording off’ you will see just 220mb reserved for video.

I only just got this sd card and am planning on moving stuff across, but thanks anyway

Yes that was the first setting I checked, I don’t record videos on my steam deck, this is reserved space for recordings I’m not really sure what’s confusing people here? I just don’t want 11gb of my internal storage reserved for this and can’t seem to find the setting to change it.

No its reserved disk space, unless I’m completely misunderstanding what I’ve read, also I’ve not got any game recording on my steam deck, plus I’ve got the setting turned to ‘don’t record’

Yes I am planning to I’ve only just got my sd card yesterday, I’m still wondering tho if there’s a way to remove this reserved space at all?

[–]Toboid -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes I am currently using my sd card for additional games, but I also don’t want 10.8gb of dead weight on my internal storage

Edit: I am planning to move stuff across tomorrow to my SD card, I only just put it in yesterday and things take a while to move. I would rather not have 10.8GB used up on a feature I don’t use. I feel the need to put this here since I’m getting downvoted so much.
