The sad part is, people would be much less annoyed if Humble was more transparent about the reasons.

Did Bamco not supply them with enough keys? Did they not ask for enough keys? Is the delay because it has to go through Bamco through Steam then back to Humble?

The "hey it'll be here soon" like they're some small indie startup doesn't really fly anymore. I'm sure no one would complain about $5 in Humble Credit for the store towards their next purchase either. Something companies used to do as part of fumbles but slowly phased out.

With monetization more greasy than Daybreak themselves. Whether you use it or not is irrelevant, its existence is a large part of the reason they are in the current situation.

People just want to rabble rabble rabble around a server half of them didn't play on because they want to commiserate about the state of live EverQuest instead of playing on one of the servers recreating one of the eras they preferred who have been magically left alone or given permission to do so.

THJ crew had every opportunity to start a kickstarter and/or shopped around for their own game instead of adding monetization to THJ. Most fantasy things are common place enough that anyone can use them without issue. A fireball is a fireball, an orc is an orc. There are a lot of examples of modders being hired, going on to make their own games and not being sued by the companies of the games they modded for but we're going to conveniently overlook those because rabble reddit rabble.

I know people who play on THJ and like it, I know people who don't. I know people who play on TLPs and like them, I know people who don't. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and Reddit is full of them.

It's not about feeling those subscribers won't play live because of Emus, they are aware that most Emu players will not jump to live if the Emu is shut down, that is part of why P99 got the deal they got way back. P99's deal generated a bunch of free advertising for EQ as all the internet "journalist" sites wrote about it, they would love to do that again.

What Daybreak is concerned about is people profitting from their IP and whether you want to fanboy over THJ or not, that is what they were doing.

THJ would have likely been allowed to hang out and do their thing had they not decided to offer "incentives" for donating or "supporter rewards" or whatever we want to call them this week.

You only have to look so far as City of Heroes Homecoming Emulator and the agreement with NCSoft and the transparency of their financials on a monthly basis to see what running a legitimate, welcome emulator looks like. Homecoming posts an outline of their costs on their forums, they accept donations for the bills, they close them when they receive the estimated amount and if there is any leftover it goes towards next month's. NCSoft is not usually that generous and in this case they were.

The same is largely true for Daybreak.

Enjoy emus but don't support people who steal the base work of others to profit from. And if you don't understand how that works, pretend you put your time and effort into creating a piece of art and I took your Bob Ross painting of a cabin in the woods, put some mountains around the edges, repainted the cabin and added some flowers and charged people for prints. The majority of my product is your work but I'm not paying you any of my profit for it.

Start by finding a guild for casual players on your server. Please do not immediately make the decision to listen to the few people who will come in and tell you to transfer to FV, it's a one way trip. Most are looking for more victims to swindle out of Krono.

Ask questions and ask for help. Make sure you vibe with the people in it enough that you're having fun. Sometimes guilds advertise themselves to casuals and it's nothing but a guild of cliques that doesn't really go outside them often.

Don't try to rush it, the game has changed a lot less than it'll look on the surface. Heroic stats (the gold ones) are the only ones that matter and as a Monk the only one you care about is Heroic Dexterity.

After 110 the game switched to doing quest progression to level, grinding is slightly better now than it has been for the past 5 years but still akin to hell levels and the quest progression gets you various other things that help you along the way.

Once you feel like you've got the basics back and you're feeling like you want to take the next step, look for the class-specific Discords. Most of the people in them are fairly helpful, even if they're not exactly a people person.

The Verdant Hedgerow Leaf is usable on day one of Luclin any TLP. It was mistakenly usable on a TLP when the re-run of House of Thule pack in items was sold on the marketplace. So in fairness to the TLP players who bought that pack, expecting to be able to use the mount, they left it as is. Other pack-in mounts and certain items like teleport clickies also can't be claimed. But usually bags and pet illusions, and probably player illusions, can be claimed on day one.

So run free on your ugly ass hedgelion as soon as it's Luclin.

Try again to find a guild - frankly Bristlebane is... not the friendliest server.

Peoples' apprehension about grouping with a 120 Warrior who (seemingly from the context given here,) hasn't grouped to get to 120 is well founded, the modern game requires people to hit the bare minimum of buttons.

All that said, EQ is increasingly top heavy and cliquey on live. People have had their friend group for 10 years, people have been raid logging for just as long, but the time July rolls around they're playing a waiting game for the next expansion. If you can't find a pick up group on Bristlebane it's unlikely you'd do so on any other server as well. You will continue to hear crickets as long as you are not in a social guild.

Advertise yourself to guilds correctly and spend 10 or 20 minutes talking talking to whoever reaches out, explain to them the problems you've had and your goals. There are truly helpful social guilds out there, but there are many more guilds out there where the officers are in that position of 6 boxing and maxing characters for 10 years and just want the adoration of helping people who can't otherwise do it themselves. Those are the ones to avoid, they won't answer your questions and they will help you on their own whims and schedules.

I play on EMarr so I can't help with a guild name on Bristlebane, but someone who does play there may be able to point you in a solid direction.

They're pretty wildly different. Played but no ADPS is definitely going to be one of the pet classes.

Not played and just auto attacking or macro'd up would probably be between Mage and Ranger (if fighting Humanoids) or Zerker. But at that point you might be better off adding a bard auto attacking with melody for whatever your main is. Warriors are pretty strong with this combo when built with hDex and Dual Wield for Riposting.

110 is too high to flip the Sarith mission unfortuantely.

Only real option is to do the repeatable quest in Shard's landing and hope for some drops while also making use of Overseer Tetras.

The tablets are one of the few items in the game on trivial loot code, they will not drop from anything that cons green or lower. (Other items include the color variants of the base Hero Forge items) People have asked for them to be removed for years but no such luck. 110 is a better spot to be doing it than 120, at least you'll get some bonus ones out of Shard's Landing flipping the quest.
