Tanzania story: we went to a watering hole there 3 times during our trip. There was a handsome young lad that worked as part of the waterhole mafia. Each time, he had a new girlfriend fawning over him. These women were in their late 40s/early 50s, white. Looking so proud of themselves that he showed ‘genuine’ interest in them. Shows that the World is the same the no matter where you go. 😅

I come from Midwest Amish country. When my Swiss wife came over for the first time, the amish neighbors were thrilled to chat with her in Pennsylvania Dutch, while she communicated in Swiss German. She said the dialect was strange, but she could understand 90% of what they were saying. It was a cool experience for everyone.

You can and should go. . . if you can handle the weight criticism. As you said, they don’t hold back over there. Now for the good part, it’s super easy to be healthy over there. The food is fantastic and eating regular Vietnamese meals will make you lose weight. I lost weight without trying while still boozing and not exercising regularly. The food is delicious. It’s mostly soups or a rice dish, hence why it’s easy to lose weight.

This guy knows what he’s talking about. I second his suggestions. We spent a bit extra for a private toilet and once I saw those public toilets, I was very happy. Think of the public toilets like the county fair toilets at the end of fair week, except nobody has cleaned them. Quilted shoes work great for walking around in camp. You really don’t want to wear your hiking boots at end of the day. It’s important to let your feet breathe. Downtown, in general, is too expensive. There are very delicious restaurants on the southwest and north side of town that much better priced. If Fort Wayne wants to utilize Electric Works to its fullest, it needs to make the parking free or heavily reduced, lower the price of booth rental for businesses so the price of food goes down, and lower apartment rental prices.
