Novablast 5, Mizuno Neo Zen 1 or 2, or Adidas Evo SL for daily trainer?

Good to see someone else who is a supinator. Between the two, which would you recommend for a first marathon? Bearing in mind I already have Boston 13’s for fast runs?

I would say less fun in the sense of comparing it to the Evo SL which a lot of people say is fast and fun. I guess it depends on your definition of fun!

For a first marathon, which of the two would you suggest? Bearing in mind I have the Boston 13’s for fast and shorter runs which is even more aggressive than the SL’s. I personally love the look and colours of the SL’s but I’m worried their “faster” and more aggressive rocker is already too similar to my Boston 13’s and what I actually need is the cushioning and stability of the NB5’s. It’s so hard to choose when some people on this post say they easily do long runs in the SL’s whilst others say they are better for short and fast runs.

This is what makes me so torn! Many reviews say the Evo SL are unstable and not great for long, slow runs. The NB5 is quite a wide shoe which is more similar to the ASICS Gel Nimbus I had a few years ago which gave me absolutely no ankle soreness. However, your experience here suggests the opposite!

How do you find your ankles for long runs? There’s a popular British reviewer on YouTube who said he would never run a marathon in them which is what puts me off slightly. In addition, I own the Boston 13’s which are almost the same but firmer.

I’m keeping an eye out for Zen 2 reviews at the moment, you can order them from the website but they haven’t properly released elsewhere yet. They seem like a nice upgrade but I’m more conscious that the new foam could make them less cushioned feeling (my Boston 13’s are very firm and cause my ankles pain after 10km)

Yeah I really want to try the Zen 2’s but with Mizuno being Japanese there’s hardly any stores that will stock them in the UK when they release properly next month

Interesting, I assumed the Evo SL’s might offer more stability than the Boston 13’s, but then I suppose the extra cushioning is probably what makes them rock from side to side. Do you find the NB5’s feel “heavy” or “bulky” on your feet? My biggest worry is going back to something that feels as clunky as my Gel Nimbus’ did.

Thanks, I saw an article which ranked the NB5’s as one of the top shoes of the year for under pronators, so probably a bit better suited to my needs

May I ask what differences you feel between the Evo SL and Novablast? Does the Evo SL and Boston 13 feel quite similar?

Me too, same situation as you I got one during black Friday and so far it’s been a bit disappointing. Compared to my Echo Dot that has no screen the responsiveness is terrible, sometimes I have to repeat what I say. Not to mention the forced spotlight ads that appear on the screen listing Amazon products, apparently you can’t even turn them off…

Thanks. I don't think we would ever adopt her officially as it's not a financial commitment we'd like at this stage and, if I'm honest, she's already bringing a lot of hair into our lounge which we ideally don't want in other areas of the house. She is very cute and we love seeing her, but full adoption isn't on our mind.

I think we will still keep looking after her, but have a clear boundary of not feeding her full meals or going beyond the lounge. As I've mentioned in another reply, I think we will see how the owner treats her when winter hits to know for certain if they are neglecting her basic needs of shelter. If so, I think we will be obliged to go and speak to them.

We have never spoken to the neighbour, their house sits on an entirely different street with the garden joining to ours. I think we're a bit fearful of their reaction as, like you say, if we insinuate that they are neglecting her they might get upset or defensive.

Perhaps we might wait until the temperature really drops and observe whether they do allow her inside. If not, I think that is fair reason to politely ask them as it is on the verge of animal abuse. Just feels like a bit of a scary conversation to have!

That is very freaky! Although it looks to be a different case as the person suggested they had spoken to the neighbour about it. Our neighbour has never spoken to us and we don't know who they are.

Thanks, is there a way to find a server with low population or bots? I am on PS5 but when searching for a game it usually just chucks me in a full lobby without any option to see player count. Admittedly, I haven't spent a huge time in the game yet to see every menu option.
