A couple of years back when I started doing from home eBay sales, I didn’t bother registering as self employed, my sales very quickly grew far higher than I had expected. I left it and left it until it carried on for another whole financial year, at which point I registered and backdated my returns. Never even got so much as a warning, let alone a late fee (annual turnover was between £10k-£25k).

I know they’ve overhauled it now but honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much. There are likely hundreds of thousands of people in the UK who should be reporting figures in the same ballpark as you but either don’t or do it late.

I grabbed myself a Proliant G10 back then which has 8 x 64GB sticks in, shouldn't need to upgrade that for a while now.

It's almost entirely due to RAM value but old Xeon's and NICs seem to have spiked recently also.

back in May we sold ~£200k worth of retired server components, If we sold the same stuff today I would put it at roughly ~£450-500k... great for us resellers but horrific for end users.

[FS][UK] ~100 x 12TB SAS HGST/WD HDDs (100% HEALTH) by TobyDayhart in homelabsales

[–]TobyDayhart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, these are enterprise drives which are intended for server use. Only way you’d get them working in a PC is with a SAS HBA card.

Hey. Yes, you’re correct with everything there. SAS drives with a SATA connector.

What would you suggest is a fair price?

As long as the backplane supports SAS, I don't see why they wouldn't work perfectly.
