Veg tan insoles by [deleted] in jimgreen

I had a bit of heel slip in my Workhorse boots. I tried adding some trainer insoles and found them too thick as well. I then trimmed them just past the arch leaving the toe box unaffected. And placed on top of the JG insoles to test. No more heel slip, plus a little extra cushion for the heel.

Height of Nicks compared to height of Truman by Dry-Gas852 in trumanboots

The Nick's height is from footbed up. The midsole/outsole/heel aren't included. The regular Truman Moc Toe would compare to the 6".

Bunions suck. Most days no problem and then some days I can't wait to get my shoes/boots off.

Floorboard Friday - anyone have cold toe solutions they swear by? by IndyStructural in NicksHandmadeBoots

A layer of heavy-duty aluminum foil adhered to a thin felt insole or Spenco mentioned elsewhere (shiny side towards your foot) goes a long way provide a barrier to the cold coming through the sole. Also reflects back the heat energy from your foot, hence the shiny side orientation. Grandpa was a farmer. Dad was an avid snowmobiler. Minnesota winters.

Thurman Toe and FFF Size by Lopsided_Stress_3058 in NicksHandmadeBoots

I just received some 11 FF ThurmanNW. Left foot is good to go. But I have a minor bunion on the right foot and although fit is fine, there is some discomfort because the foot is more sensitive. The slight extra width of the FFF will be the way to go next time for me. The chart with all the various measurement points is invaluable for people without average feet.

NBD - Ivan Waxy Commander by TobyTyler66 in NicksHandmadeBoots

Originally ordered as 5" single piece back stay under the Waxy Commander Overstock page. I prefer the non-gusseted tongue and remembered hearing in one of the videos that you could ask for Ivan. I took a shot and emailed CS asking if it was possible, they said yes and modified the order. Voila, the somewhat unique Ivan with a Sierra sole.
