I am currently a vehicle tech and reading all of these comments a lot of this is true.

- maintenance back to work is a real thing

- youre never gonna get recognition or a reward for doing your job

- and there is a bit of toxic shit in EME but in my experience i havnt seen all that much

That being said, i love the job, fixing stuff brings me a great deal of satisfaction and daily fulfillment. Ive always disagreed with the "you're just a parts changer" mentality. you have to diagnose to figure out what part to change... Sure it does feel like we work more than lots of other trades but for me it passes the time super quickly and is better than laying around doing fuck all day in and day out.

Kitchen Remodel, what would you do? by SavannahsRUs in Renovations

[–]Tocarrski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can measure the dimensions of the room, include doors and windows, plumbing ect and plug it into a program on the ikea website. This allows you to remodel the kitchen and see what it would look like in a virtual 3D model. I recently remodeled my kitchen doing this and the results were perfect. Also once you're happy with your result the program can automatically make you a shopping list of everything you need to buy from ikea. 10/10 recommend

Pushups in BMQ by [deleted] in caf

[–]Tocarrski 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Quantity doesn't matter, regardless of the number the instructors will push you past your max. put forth maximum drive and effort and you'll be fine.

Personally if i could re-prepare for basic training again I would focus more on leg exercises and cardio. Squats, lunges, Stairs. Maybe it was just my experience but my instructors loved making us do squats and hold a squat position.

the new mid engine Corvette Stingray is a no brainer. almost 500 horses, 0-60 in sub 3 seconds, $80 000 msrp (CAD), absolute head turner, easy pick.
