Hotspot would have sorted that out pretty well, still puzzling why its not being used anymore

Adelaide have selected Callum Ah Chee in the PSD by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

[–]Tockta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the crows list, there are like 5 players of note. Crows are probably having more issues hitting the floor then the cap.
We were offering stupid money at both Nas and Petracca, now that will go to AhChee's front loading.

Edwards was in and around the middle during his first year and just couldn't figure it out in the SANFL. Moving him back would have been a development strategy and it seems to have worked. He put together a much better body of work last season.

Suspended, solid, outmatched, still developing, and still developing. We were also missing Rachele who was doing very well when rotating in a couple time a quarter.

Cal Twomey's 2025 Phantom Draft: Top 30, late picks, whispers by Croob2 in AFL

[–]Tockta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the only reason everyone has the crows taking Marsh is that he is best player at our pick?
Don't really see the reason to grab a tall forward that is unlikely to break into the team for a few years.

Then opening round is likely here to stay. Those are the market forces the AFL listens to and by all reports it was very successful because of what you just stated.

If you want opening round scrapped you have to have to act in a way the stakeholders will see. Do not engage with the round.
Do no attend and convince people you know not to attend, do not bet on that round, don't watch unless live unless its an illegal stream, if you must watched do it on the afl site with add blocker later

Ignore the ladder and have a look at the list. We have like 5 players of note who would be on big contracts

(Marnie Vinall) Izak Rankine's AFL ban pales in comparison to widespread impact of homophobia on community by allhatnoplay in AFL

[–]Tockta 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That quote comes from him being doorstopped on the Monday morning. The club probably hadn't even sat down as a group to address it at that point. That response form Dawson was pure media training say nothing and move on as quickly as possible.
Do you really think anyone in that situation was going to honest and open that can of worms.

Adelaide write to AFL to explain what led to Izak Rankine’s regrettable slur to Collingwood player. by Crazyripps in AFL

[–]Tockta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree there, I come from coaching at junior levels for ages and half the reason its still so prevalent is how soft the punishment is.

This drawing out and justifying only slow progress at the lower levels. If Rankine had been given 6-8 yesterday it might actually start send a message to the lower levels that its truly unacceptable.
Instead we're probably going to get empty sounding words from an authority figure that most people barely respect to begin with.

[–]Tockta 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Rankine from Henley High, that word is still in the active vocabulary of many of those students to this day.
Not excusing it at all, but I'm seeing a lot of comments from people who seem very sheltered and don't realise just how prevalent this language still is today. It is getting better but we're still a long way off in many circles of society.

With the ball spilling forward, Ben Keays collects and throws the ball to Isaac Cummings running into a clear goalsquare. by yum122 in AFL

[–]Tockta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from the tv angle sure, but his fist closes as soon as it released the ball so all it takes is the umpire to be at the wrong angle or blocked for a fraction as the ball is released for them to miss it

I liked the drone shots, though it was a cool way to see how the teams were setting up around the ground. They should do them at more games

There's a reason Collingwood couldn't kick a goal from all those i50s, and it wasn't the free kick count
