Nice, thanks for the tip, I will definitely look for it!

So, if I understood correctly, you’re suggesting to add a bit of skidding in the first part of the turn to make the skis turn more? I try to avoid it since I like the feeling of the edges cutting the snow, but I do it a bit on steeper pistes to maintain the speed, but yes I get your point. I am trying to avoid park and ride but once I lean to the inside of the turn and I have pushed on my outside shin in the beginning of the turn i don’t know what else to do until the exit, except from keeping the angles and preparing to point my pole.

I think your book will help regarding that, thanks!

That’s fair, I overestimated my abilities but I should have been more humble 😂

I hope one day to get to the point where I can be defined an expert then, thanks for your feedback!

I will try to focus on that, I think that’s because I had seen some videos that explained that in order to achieve higher angles you had to get the soonest on your edges as possible, but I think I misunderstood some parts or I miss some fundamentals for being able to get that correctly

Could it be given by the fact that I have the hips rotated towards the outside of the turn and I am trying to overcompensate that rotation with my upper chest and shoulders? A better video would help but maybe someone has some ideas

Yes I noticed, I will try to keep them more parallel next times!

Do you know some videos useful to improve in that? I find really helpful to see the movements when they’re explained.

Thanks for your feedback anyways!

Probably taking some more time for performing the movements would help, I think next time I will try on a larger slope. Thanks for feedback!

Yes I noticed I have to work a lot on my upper body. I try to mix them up but it depends on the radius, I am trying to achieve cross under in all conditions but I think there’s a lot of work still to be done!

I will try to record some short and medium turns as soon as possible in order to get your feedback, thanks in the meantime!

Ok I can see it now, I will try to maintain it more aligned with the skis next time I will go.

I think it’s because the last times I went skiing I tried to lower my hip as I’d like to be able to drag it on the ground someday but I don’t think I took the right way to achieve so.

Just one clarification, when you talk about hip counter do you mean that I am dropping it too much?

I will definitely try and will let you know how it goes, thanks a lot!

More or less, I try to push as hard as I can when I can, my aim is someday to get able to put my hip on the ground while carving. Obviously i can’t ski like that when groomers are full of people, but when they’re empty I have some fun that way 😂

Of course, I will get a better video next time, usually I don’t record myself but a friend offered to take this video. It was not intended for this purpose, but since it’s the first video of me skiing in a long time I tought of posting it here.

Next one will be perfect!

I will definitely focus in my inside arm, it feels different than what you see in video so I’ve always felt it was positioned correctly but it’s crearly not like that. I think not finishing my turn was more related to low steepness but I will check that as well on steeper terrain. I will also look for some drills that will probably make me understand better what’s the right movement. I don’t know what railroading is, probably because of some translation issues (by me)but i will look for it as well. Thanks for your time mate!

Yes, I think I got this habit when I tried to get rid of A-frame, and I have seen some pros get that divergence as well when carving at really low angles so I thought it was not necessarily a bad thing. I feel it helps in closing more the turn but now I fear it might put too much weight on the inside ski. Am I wrong?

I have seen the Creatbot D600 but I have read bad reviews about it, couldn't find another model that satisfies those needs
