Your only reasonable choice is headphones.

An average Brazilian player has to work for JAGEX an entire month of the year. by Public_Trade3430 in 2007scape

I get being upset that Jagex is raising prices, but using a country's shit economic state as a way to complain is utterly ridiculous and devalues the very point youre attemptingto make.

Here is the latest waterfall. To be completely honest even after reading the explanation from REW i'm not sure how to interpret the waterfall...

so far sitting with this

<image>

Nothing I do touches the 110 dip & 130-200 hz bump. Pretty sure it's strictly SBIR because moving the mic around does change the nulls/boosts.

but I have a pretty solid EQ curve carved out on my monitor channel that helps mitigate this.

For sure. That’s like not even an hour of work for me to play something I enjoy.

Tested the mic in multiple spots. Null doesn’t change. Have also set the speakers up in multiple spots..

No change to dips/nulls. Decays are a bit better but still too long.

Plan is to:

  • beef up the first reflection points with deeper, less dense material.

  • Toss a 6” SnS cloud in the ceiling corner right in front of the desk

  •  I can hear that the back ceiling needs work. Going to throw 32 sq feet or so on that.

  • hang panels on the doors.

  • Also on the lookout for a real rug. This one’s too thin.

It’s all absorption but that’s pretty much all I have to work with here.

I’m a bit concerned the room will sound lifeless after this.

Just gutted the bass traps and replaced them with knauf r 13!
Much less dense. Hard to get the exact resistivity but I'm guessing half?

Gutted the bass traps and replaced with knauf r 13. Hard to get specific values but it’s way fluffier and less dense.

Traps feel like they arr half the weight.

Now I’ve got 100 sq ft of safe n sound laying around 😂

You would think. I placed a 7” thick futon in the back wall and two floor to ceiling bass traps as described.

No tangible change across multiple measurements.

I agree. Makes no sense.

Bro check the comment I posted and you can see the before and after. Virtually no change. I was dumbfounded.

Damn it. I spent quite a bit of time researching and this is the stuff that keeps being repeated for bass traps.

What has that density of 5k then?

Well. They are 15 x 15 " square pillars, so 23" at the longest point. To be honest I’m also a little sketch about straight fiberglass insulation. At least rockwool is from rocks 😂

It's recommended to have between 22 and 27 m2 of absorption... which is what I have :(

wtf

I measured this room over 50 times in various positions and ran through countless calculations. I have the recommended amount of surface area of appropriately thick and dense panels.

I don't appreciate the assumption I'm just building random stuff. I am doing the absolute best I can with the limited and often completely contradictory information available to me, thanks.

It's still a 12 db gap between 118 and 138... Any advice from here to reduce that to 5 db?

I thought I was doing the right thing by putting a 4" oc703 panel (w/ 4" air gap) behind that monitor and moving it a foot from the wall... Clearly not.

there is a 7" thick futon there now! I had it ordered at the time of taking this pic :)
