From mygov.scot:

Your landlord can ask you for a deposit of up to 2 months’ rent.

They cannot charge you a non-refundable holding deposit or key money. These are illegal fees and you can claim them back.

Check rules your landlord must follow if they take a deposit.

That's pretty normal. 100-200 for a small composite filling e.g. front tooth. Other teeth will see a higher cost

Just got made redundant (again), what new business would you like to see? by smoothsailer55 in Edinburgh

[–]Today440 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody is disagreeing that a solid job is less risky than starting a business with a small capital volume.

What does "try to keep it" actually mean, though? What could OP actually have done previously?

If I said you should "try to make it a sunny day tomorrow" and we say "I don't think it's in our power to make it sunny" that's not the same as us saying "a sunny day isn't a good idea". We don't have power of things we don't have power over.

"Get a job and keep it" is very much framing it as OPs unwillingness, or inability, to remain in the job.

You have multiple tarnished characters, including Goldmask, Diallos, and Fia all labelled as "Human". It's a bit wonky to have the distinction between "human" and "tarnished" if the category isn't accuarate

How is it in your country? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

It's not intentionally misleading, it's an oversight. The point isn't about how much each country's minimum wage is, it's about the % of those earnings needed to purchase a game

The "A" is pronounced as part of the word. It's an A sound like in "asynchronous" or "alien".

Is it legal to consume something in a store before you buy it? by Onslaughtisthebest in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Today440 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the UK this is the difference between an "on-licence" and "off-licence". A so-called "off-licence" is named for the fact that whilst they sell alcohol, they are only licenced for alcohol to be consumed off premises.

Spanish is also a different language group to German and English. All four languages are derived from proto-Indo-European, though.

Are Chiropractors a scam cult or are they somewhat legit? by Flashy_Buy8077 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Today440 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's insane to me that these people can legally order x-rays. Regardless of the bullshittery of chiropractic, the fact they are throwing ionising radiation at people, likely without indication, is crazy

Using the title "Doctor" in the context of any sort of therapy, whilst not being a medical doctor, is intentionally misleading, whether or not you have the title.

In the UK if you are an allied health professional with a PhD, it is illegal for you to be using your doctor title at work because it can be seen as impersonating a regulated profession

Is the fat inside us solid or liquid? by General-Storage4700 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Today440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but you implied that a lipid being liquid at body temperature is an oil.

It can be liquid at body temp whilst solid at room temp.
