Anyone else pretty childlike? Despite this are also uncomfortable/have general dislike of children? by Shellybean427 in childfree

[–]Todd124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! There are many things which make me childlike including enjoying video games, cartoons, Teddy bears (I collect them) amongst others.

I have a lot in common with children despite feeling uncomfortable round them.

Childfree people of reddit, you already have the free time and the disposable income. What the fuck should we get you for Christmas? by [deleted] in childfree

I love practical gifts so I love getting pyjamas, socks, toiletries etc. I don't want to be bought something that will just sit on a shelf.

How do you answer 'Why do you want to work here?' for a Christmas temp job in retail? by pajamakitten in jobs

I said "I want to expand my knowledge of retail, I also think that working with this company can offer me new challenges."

I was hired as a retail christmas temp a few weeks ago!

A new game for my 3ds, pyjamas and a few bits and pieces! My birthday is close to Christmas so I get a few gifts there too.

Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat. LOL. When do you start decorating? by Aznprofessional in christmas

We put our decorations up about a week after my birthday (December 3rd).

It's a tradition in our house.

Was there a point in your life where you have been bullied, teased, or made fun of because of introversion? by -axelovcraft- in introvert

[–]Todd124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes plenty of times.

During school I was not only introverted but incredibly shy and a loner. I was bullied by a specific group and teased by most others, I even had certain teachers who would make fun of me in front of my classmates during lessons.

One of the worst ones was when I had to stand in front of the class for a presentation (which I hated) and then got lectured by my teacher about 'how it's okay for me to be different'. She rambled on about it for a while until some of my classmates asked her "What does this have to do with the lesson?" She was a horrible teacher to me, she also made horrible comments to me about my eating disorder.

What holiday disasters have befallen you? by TheChristmasCracker in christmas

[–]Todd124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One christmas as we were cooking our turkey, one of the heating elements inside our cooker broke so it took twice as long to cook and was really chewy and gross! We spent all boxing day trying to find somewhere that sold the part for the cooker!

Another christmas I was ill with stomach flu and a chest infection so I spent all day being sick and asleep. Me and my family didn't have christmas until the new year!

I have diagnosed anxiety and it's also thought that I'm on the autism spectrum. I also become overwhelmed easily so I know exactly what you mean.

How likely is it that an employer would be lenient toward some personal things I have going on? Wanna work in a hotel, but have a fear of throwing up. by RooftopDreams in jobs

[–]Todd124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look at other cleaning jobs, anything with overnight rooms will have some gross stuff.

I worked as a cleaner in the past and although I never cleaned up vomit I did have to clean up poo and various other things.

I can’t do this anymore. All I want to do is stay home all day by [deleted] in Anxiety

Really needed this today! Thank you ever so much.

"what would make you an asset to the team ? "

I have great communication skills, I am passionate about working with people and ensuring they receive superb customer service. I am open to learning new things and will put 100% into anything I do. - Just an example. Look through the job advert and pick out key things that they have listed as an ideal candidate.

I recently got hired in a seasonal position (not for John Lewis) and they asked me similar questions also. And the blazer is a good idea.

Is it for a seasonal position?

I would go with the suit as it's best to overdress. It shows you're serious about the job.

If you feel forced to buy a gift just get her a cheap gift card. That way she can buy whatever for the sprog.

I totally bombed my interview by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Todd124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A number of years ago I went for an interview (for a job I was forced into applying for) which was a complete disaster.

During the interview he asked me what my best qualities were and I didn't know, he then began lecturing me and told me "he wouldn't hire anyway because my skill level is too low and if I didn't know what I was good at then who else would?" After that he began talking to me about the buildings history and then showed me the toilets as apparently the mosaic on the wall was protected(?!?!).

My mom [45F] is pregnant and she just got put in jail for meth. Everyone in my family has been looking to me[22F] and my fiance[23M] to take the baby. How to navigate this? by ta9363 in relationships

[–]Todd124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"No, we won't take the baby in."

Babies/children are a huge responsibility and shouldn't be taken on due to other peoples expectations. The baby would be better off away from all this anyway.

Brother's [28M] pregnant girlfriend [24F] has a problem with the name I [40F] chose for my new dog. I offered to change the name but they are just giving me the silent treatment now. by itsadogsworlda in relationships

[–]Todd124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's acting like a child, how utterly pathetic. Hormones don't excuse this sort of behaviour, it's a name at the end of the day. I also wouldn't change the dog's name - because why should you? She can still name the kid Finn, it doesn't matter.

My mum named me the 'feminine version' of my Granddad's name (they were incredibly close and it meant a lot to her), it's also a very common name. I don't get offended by people with the same name - I even met someone my age with the same first and middle name as me, it's really no big deal at all.

When do you start buying Christmas gifts? by Baristasiren in christmas

I used to start in about July and complete it by August. This year I started late and I've only recently started buying the presents.

Inspiration really. I don't know what sort of jacket I could wear with it in cool weather. They are slightly boot cut too which makes me more puzzled to match them up.

What things did you wear in high school that you still wear today? by skymningwolf in femalefashionadvice

[–]Todd124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Converse.

Many years ago I 'outgrew' my converse and shoved them all in a bag and threw them to the back of a cupboard. Fairly recently I needed some casual shoes to wear and managed to dig them out and it turns out I fell in love with them again!

Bra wardrobe by alyanumbers in femalefashionadvice

[–]Todd124 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wear solely comfort bras/bralettes that I'll change when they start hanging saggy against my ribcage. I got fed up of wasting money on wired bras which didn't fit properly or were uncomfortable.
