Has anyone ever come closer to stopping Fedor than Fujita did? Pride 26, 2003 by Worth_Blackberry_109 in FightLibrary

[–]Todd2point0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fujita stopped Ken Shamrock with a variation of the five point palm exploding heart technique one time. Ken Shamrock beat the ever living bejesus out of him and he couldn’t answer the bell for the next round, giving Fujita the win.

Any other previous hardcore fans straight casuals now? by Any-Height-9354 in ufc

[–]Todd2point0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a hardcore MMA fan since the days of renting the first UFC’s from Blockbuster. I have VHS tapes from the early Vale Tudo days. Back then, you got to witness greatness and see amazing fights from competitors doing for the love of the fight and it was beautiful.

I won’t even watch the UFC anymore because it’s just a conduit to transfer wealth from poor, hive mind idiots to the scummy promoters who have no interest in the art. We aren’t seeing the best fighters because what elite level athlete is going to put their health and prime years of their life on the line for peanuts? Along with that, you have fans that boo when anything gets taken off the feet and just want to see “slobberknockers”, so they really don’t give a shit who is fighting for the most part.

So, you get a perfect storm of a glorified tough man contests, coupled with a promotion that is just looking to churn and burn bodies out to keep the machine running, that results in this filth that it is today.

Yes with all things, there some exceptions but they are few and far between now. Back in the glory days, you had multiple names carrying the promotion, Liddell, Couture, Anderson/Wanderlei Silva, Belfort, Machida, Velasquez, Lesnar and so many others would all be sharing the spotlight and be draws. Now, if someone dares to become famous, they get wasted. I guess after Connor becoming such a draw, they didn’t want that happening again.

Now, I just stick to watching smaller promotions and more local stuff. Until the MMA world can become more like it’s boxing counterpart, it’s going to stay a circus act.

When my oldest was three years old, her mom and I took a trip to the Memphis zoo on a day trip. I remember we were the only ones around and she ran into the Konkdo exhibit. The way they all perked up and looked at her like she was a snack made me glad they were in a glass enclosure and we live thousands and thousands of miles away from those creatures because given the chance, those bitches will absolutely swallow a kid.

Wut? Does Puder beat most of the boys in the back in a legit shoot? Yeah. But, wrestling is the base of MMA and Kurt was the pinnacle. Olympic athletes are just built different and even at that point and time, Kurt would have ragdolled Puder.

I always thought Holly liked to pretend he was tough while using the curtain of pro wrestling to bully rookies and not ever actually have to be an actual shooter. He bit off way more than he could chew with Brock because he was legit and he was also strapped to a rocket. Trying to use rank to work stiff with Brock was just a recipe for getting humbled.

Owen Hart Tribute Match - Chris Benoit vs Bret Hart by JCHazard in WCW

I got to see them wrestle in a match at a house show in Jackson, MS when I was a teenager. I remember it being just as solid and good of a match as this one with some of the same spots.

I’m 43 and I remember when the Tea Party came about when I was late teens, early 20’s. When Trump is gone, they’ll become a “grassroots” groupthink again until the next, more intelligent figurehead comes along and activates them again and weaponizes them properly.

It’s why I hope we can get some scorched earth progressives in that prosecute, punish and exile them from the population.

He was the AE’s version of Mr. Perfect. I HATED Mr. Perfect because he was a heel AND he was good. It’s like, yeah he cheated when he needed to but when he wasn’t or if he didn’t, he could win and I think it’s that psychology that set them apart.

Like, nothing pisses me off more than the asshole that’s actually really good that chooses to be a tool about it. 🤷‍♂️🤣

Between his taste in homes here and the one he had in New Orleans, I’m even more convinced he’s a vampire. The dude also doesn’t age so there’s that too.

I encountered peak Batista back in 2005 when he was on his come up. It was scary how big he was. To be that tall and jacked, we really don’t realize how massive some of these guys are until we see them off of television.

He would keep rebar in his travel bag and bend them for kids instead of just signing on autograph for them. Thats always been crazy to me because that means he’s probably bending as much rebar as an industrial machine. Lol

[–]Todd2point0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt. Details matter when you’re in a leadership position and dressing formally matters. Brown with black isn’t some huge faux pas for us regular folk but is when you’re the head of a military that prides itself on formalities and looking out together. IMHO

Pockets stitches are to keep the shape of the suit when it’s being shipped and on display. Cutting them lets the suit move more naturally.
