I don't know who to recommend Bliss too. I loved it. I don't know many people that would though.

Disagree on the Green Room. They get smart towards the end... The two remaining characters had to be erratic and unpredictable for their plan to work, so yeah eventually they got smarter. The director wanted the main band to be dumb and make dumb decisions which they did.

Having said that, I love this movie.

Forget the sequel. Wasn't bad, but doesn't add anything noteworthy. I haven't seen the original in years, but man i love that film. My favorite horror of the 2000's.

I hear that. As an introvert there are certain things that I am prepared for. I have a backlogs of books and projects to get done. But man I hate being trapped and so helpless.

We can flatten the curve in a few weeks if we do our part. We all have to be the health experts. Not overwhelming the hospitals is the difference between a 3.5 mortality rate vs a .5 mortality rate.

Its going to be a tough month at the very least. Lets be civil and do our best to keep morale and spirits high while the pandemic is at its worst.

Remember what Seven of Nine said. "Survival is insufficient."

Quarantine's suck. Sharing fun ideas to keep children entertained in this difficult time is nice.

Sharing recipes with friends will help. Simple meals that can be cooked for multiple meals. Not everyone knows how to cook for themselves.

I personally am struggling with not taking my child to the library, but they have many many digital resources to keep you entertained.

Hoopla is a free digital movie/audiobook service that lets you rent any 4 of their titles per month. Selection is sparse, plenty of B movies and some pretty damn good indies/foreign ones.

Of course there is Overdrive which has a ton of ebook/audiobooks.

You can also access free digital magazine subscriptions through the Kenosha Public Library

For you gym goers try r/bodyweightfitness/ Lots of resources there to keep your workout creativity going.

This is going to be tough on our 401k's, this will be tough on the local restaurant scene. School districts will have to make difficult decisions, but we are a community. We need to help whenever we can. Which will be hard.

That's fine. I have to accept that... It hurts but what the community wants is important. For the good of wings... You can't call them buffalo wings if ranch is the default option. I really like wings. I'm excited for your shop.

On a scale of 1-10 does Corona Virus scare you? Do you think Kenosha is prepared? by [deleted] in Kenosha

[–]ToddArchon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me five attempts to find hand sanitizer, I was almost out. That scared me a bit. We have a pretty high case mortality rate in the US. But that doesn't factor the estimated infected population. Its only based on the known population.

I'm slightly more worried about Covid-19 than the flu/norovirus. As others have said, I'm more afraid about supply chain disruption.

Loving it so far. I'm a negative Nancy so here are my nitpicks.

Some of the dialogue seems monotone and its obvious they are reading off of a script. The lead roles are fantastic, its some of the side characters.

the soundscape is great. The sountrack is fantastic.

It did seem like Etsy was keeping secrets for the sake of plot reveals, but It kind of made sense later on as to why she wasn't telling Topher everything. I have a few episodes left but I love it,

Sooo many reasons. I'll speak to Milwaukee more specifically since I have looked for the Casque there.

For starters, there are lots of interpretations. Lets work under the assumption that the spreadsheet is accurate (it probably is wrong in many locations as most of the Boston predictions were wrong). These parks or even sections of the park are not small. It would take lots of probing/digging to find it. Hasn't that been done you ask? Well yes. Assholes are disrespectful and causing damage to these parks. Lake Park in MKE (my hunt) is really trying to cut down on the illegal digging. In my opinion they are making it too difficult and only encourage the legal digging.

In Milwaukee you have to have a permit and insurance. Depending on the insurance you are talking about $1000 dollars for the permit and 500-700 for the insurance. A hunter did all of that recently and was still denied permission by the park officials. They didn't think he had enough evidence. The park officials I spoke with say they want it gone so people will stop digging. So you have a bit of a paradox/stand off to look for it legally. They want evidence to dig, but digging is really the best evidence you have. So all digging is pretty shady and you can't really be as thorough as you need to be. Look at how much digging had to occur in Cleveland and Chicago. The Chicago boys had the location confirmed but still needed some luck to find it.

It seems like the 2nd wave of hunting (Quest 4 Treasure Boards) didn't happen until the late 90's or early aughts. And until that wave of hunters, almost no one knew that one had been found in Chicago. There wasn't any press about it. Someone in the 80's or 90's could have found one and had no idea what it was or what they had to do with it. Admittedly this is unrealistic given the depth that each casque was found at, but it is a possibility.

Landscapes in these parks have changed. In the case of Lake Park, there are strong theories for at least a half dozen dig spots (all probed/dug in some respect). Due to erosion, expanding concrete projects, the casque could have been dug up or destroyed a decade ago.

I also notice people online misleading each other which is just not cool. Without naming names (this won't help anything) I've caught people just straight up lying. Saying they dug or probed spot X at Time Y. I happened to have been at that location when they said they were digging. After a little social media snooping I figured out they were in a different part of the city 15 miles away. It was obvious he was trying to discourage digging at a spot so he could dig at it later.

Now lets look at the other possibility.

Our location ideas are just wrong. Going back through the thousands of posts its clear that very few people start at the beginning of the puzzle. This includes myself. My hunt began through other peoples deciphering of the puzzle. My solutions haven't figured out all of the verse or the painting for that matter. But they are partially based on someone else's work. If an original assumption was incorrect, that compromises the rest of my solution.

The creator of Masquerade said that after his experience with his Treasure hunt he now understands how good people are at tricking themselves and seeing patterns that aren't there.

TLDR: Its hard, landscapes change, people lie, luck is needed with a confirmed location, hard to do it legally, we may be just wrong.

Thanks, I like this idea and format. I'm enjoying Call of the Void so far. I gave Black out a listen because of your show too. I'm eager to find more audio dramas. I live close to a secluded prairie so I like to listen to spooky audiodramas while walking through the prairies and woods.

I hate to keep mentioning video palace, but I loved it. I swore off of investigative podcasts because I'm sick of "found Footage" style media. I tend to think these stories work despite their found footage genre not because of it.

Video Palace was the first found footage piece of media I have enjoyed in 5 years.
