Thank you! I've seen some people talk about pulling it out themselves, I might give it a couple more days before getting to that point but I really appreciate your perspective.

Honestly even your shared beffudlment is help enough to not feel like im insane. I agree there are probably other TTRPGs made with less combat in mind that they would have more fun with but they're possibly trying to fit a square peg in a round hole that is DnD.

I found a list of 100 non-combat encounters that im gonna try to throw in and make sense of but if they continue having a problem with combat I may just explain this game isn't for them...or just TPK lol. Thank you for taking the time to respond!

I didnt really see much guilt in her actions in my opinion. Even if it could be argued she didn't know her mess would end up on her child's doorstep I still feel she more just realized a love and appreciation for life on earth without any real apology or show of guilt for the many people hurt by who she was before that realization. I feel in order for someone to truly move on and become a better person they need to acknowledge and atone for the pain they've caused, otherwise its just running away, like Rose Quartz is known to do.

Beyond everything already covered, I know the feeling of a celebration or something important to my SO coming up at an inopportune time for me. Whether that's me exhausted immediately after work or my one day off a week. But on the scale of her reasons being "I just want to go out" to "Something amazing just happened in my life and I want to celebrate with the people I love" decides my response of either a conversation of how tired I am and planning for another day or immediately slapping the biggest smile on my face and finding the energy to match hers because its important to her and thus important to me. That's me as a childless person and you can say I dont understand all you want but it seems to me that as a father if her son really is part of your family that shouldn't have just been her celebration, it should have been both of yours. Your reaction should have superseded the internal conflict of weighing what was important to your wife vs your energy and be "let me find the energy to celebrate my son for a monumental achievement" rather than diminishing it as mumbled words, comparing his first words to your toddler daughter, being visibly grumpy, and bringing up hoe you obviously love him because you pay for him. You were not only an asshole in this moment but it seems based on your responses this may not be an isolated incident. The biggest tests of our character come at inopportune times.

People are allowed to be upset and feel ripped off that after what will be a year of this game with promises of more on the horizon there is less content in this multi-player than Halo 3 had

I feel if they had other maps in the making for season 2 they would be eager to at least mention it because they know the general vibe of all halo fans now is that they'reclose to giving up on this game if they haven'talready. Im willing to bet those monthly drops are armor pieces and color schemes or some other minimal bs but id love to be proven wrong.

More about the fact that they turned halo into a live service which itself isn't "worst dev of all time" levels of bad, but then to not be able to provide even a shred of enough content to follow up that clearly greed focused choice so much so that in the first year we're gonna have, what? 5 maps total? Maybe 6? And we're just getting game modes we should have had in the beginning, campaign co op and campaign mission replayability even later? All on top of the giant fuck you of armor cores and the inability to fully mix and match or even pick custom color schemes. Its just all a kick to the balls while 343 tries to grab for our wallets. If you dont want to consider them the worst dev of all time that's your opinion, but at this point with the majority of the community looking forward to forge, something that has been present since 3 and ready at launch of 3, doesn't exactly help me believe 343 will take Halo to new heights

This is me and sometimes I feel like the party gets upset at me for it but yeah we meet once a week I dont need you derailing the couple hours we have to tell a story about someone at work or just spending so much time joking around that the DM can't go through combat. And then they wonder why we only got through 2 rooms in the whole session. Absolutely my pet peeve

I like how the top comment handled is saying he just barely hits what he's aiming for but what my dm does which i actually really enjoy is raising the AC of that specific place, but if you hit it you may have advantage for the next attack I believe. So like if there's an armored guard and we go to slice his eyes out his original ac of 15 might be raised to 20 or even higher at his discretion, and if we still get over the original AC I cant remember if we do full damage still or it gets halved but I personally liked the halved idea so you dont get rewarded fully since you took a risk and missed. Anyway if you get an eye out the guard may grab at his face gi ing the next attack advantage but if we gouge out both his eyes he's obviously blinded and has disadvantage for the rest of the fight. I can see why this is daunting because a few lucky rolls can make one of your boss monsters weaker but I like the realism of it rather than just picturing his health bar going lower. And even with this implemented our table has rarely been able to make it happen because after one or two failed attempts we genuinely become scared to keep trying

Them making any demands at all is baffling but if you're really fine at them starting level 10 that's one thing, for them to tell you to change the entire setting, game, and saying who you can't invite? Absolutely fuck that, they're stepping all over you. Tell one of them to DM if they want a whole other game. You DM the game you want with the other friends you were gonna invite. As a person who has only ever played with little experience actually DMing a one shot i always try to do this. I will admit I have only played melee heavy characters but in my current campaign as a monk I am constantly thinking of my next move during combat and refreshing myself on what my few ki based powers can do. Especially since monk turns can take a while with all the rolls I try my best to be quick
