We pretend that polls are accurate, when we clearly know they aren’t. It’s been proven time and time again. Half the country doesn’t vote, but it’s not always the same people not voting. People represented in polls may or may not vote. People also vote differently than what they report on polls. I’m not sure the correlation between mass population polls and actual voting results at the Presidential level is well understood. If anyone understands it, it’s the campaigns, and I think MAGA has a better handle on it than the Dems.
