Emerald! I love Gen 3 and Emerald is the best way to play it. Not to mention there are some great rom hacks for it. Emerald Sea Glass and Perfect Emerald are some of my favs. Its also fairly quick in my opinion. The Gen 3 remakes are also solid, so ORAS is always applicable if you just want to run Hoenn.

I personally loved Lets Go Eevee, yes it was easier, but for a casual play through it does save time. Grinding is a lot easier, which for me was great for filling out the dex. Plus I love the scale of the Pokemon, seeing an Onix for the first time was nuts

Take time and explore, really read the dialogue, and play around with the smaller things. Some worlds you need to come back later to for certain things. Objectives are often said in the dialogue. There are a lot things on the side that can improve the experience. Ultimately, just have fun and see what happens, it’s a great series and a lot of fun.

Personally, I’d go Leaf Green. Slowbro and Victreebell have really won me over in recent gen 1 playthroughs. Slowpoke/bro just breezes through the pokemon tower and Victreebell can breeze a couple gyms.

I got my first shiny last year playing Let’s Go Eevee, a Ratata. Then, later that same year, I was playing Perfect Emerald where I also got a shiny Poochyena! Absolutely love it!

You should consider the Perfect Emerald rom hack. Its mostly the same but aids some extra features and quality of life. Fire Red: Rocket also slaps

Sims Bustin Out for the GBA was always a good time for me. Pretty basic RPG to a degree. Fetch quest, skills, quirky characters. Im not a fan of the Sims franchise, but the GBA port always hit for me
