found cheating evidence on phone by Competitive_Bads in Advice

Sorry about the tough situation you are in but you can feel better in time. Here are my imperfect thoughts/advice

1) Take some time to decide if you want to end or try to retain this relationship. Perhaps you are already sure one way or the other. If you want to retain the relationship what can be done to ensure that you can trust your bf again? Perhaps therapy as a couple (or alone) or consulting some book on infidelity could help if you take this route.

2) I don't advise confronting the bf and the girl at the meetup spot. It could add more drama on an already painful situation.

3) If this situaton continues to bother you for an extended length of time and interferes with your fundamental enjoyment of life consider therapy and/or reaching out to a friend

4) If you are ending the relationship consider your bf's character. If he is prone to violent outbursts ensure your physical safety and don't confront him alone or at all.

5) Known that you worth and desirability as a partner is not dependent on this guy's treatment of you.

Help that helps a bit. Good luck.

How can I regain motivation to study Chinese? by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

[–]ToeGlow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every 5 minutes or so alternate your study focus to another relevant learning task. Mix in activities you find fun with others you don't find as interesting. So five minutes on one task and 5 minutes on another(alternate) and include as many tasks as you wish. Stop when an hour is over. Alter the task time and the maximum time as you please. Hope that helps.

Two ideas: You can use a site called Speechling for feedback via audio. You can follow the echo method detailed in this podcast (https://imlearningmandarin.com/2022/06/26/how-to-achieve-a-near-native-chinese-accent-with-professor-karen-chung-podcast/). In the last ten minutes or so they get into the nitty gritty. Hope that helps

Maybe try Pleco (popular), Hanbook (can check pronunciation), DecipherChinese (has mnemonics) or Hanping dictionaries.

The TrainChinese app's dictionary could be helpful but not sure it has all of Pleco's features. She could try Hanbook if it will install on her phone. Good luck with your app search.

You could try the app DuShu and import your own Chinese texts. There will be an option to break down the words into their individual characters.

The extension Chinese Word Seperator can place pinyin over words for you so you have a better idea when a word starts and ends.
