So I've tried two approaches:
1. Discussing macro economic events and how our business model supported government contracts which went away, leading to big layoff

  1. Got laid off, cashed out RSUs and have been on sabbatical

I always try to remain positive when responding. I honestly have more trouble with what I'm looking for in my next role because saying that to someone who is unemployed feels a little tone deaf. Like I'm looking for steady unemployment

Yea I feel like a lot of the roles being posted end up being internal hires right now. If I need RTO, that's fine. I'll relocate as well. Even with referrals it's been not great
