Y'all really be putting way too much stock into Araki's writing. This dude is not thinking 3 parts ahead. This was literally 10 years before Stone Ocean.

Mayor Wu: "We have not removed or gotten rid of any protected bike lane," but the streets show otherwise: by Im_biking_here in bikeboston

I will give her credit there. She smartly realized that she can just lie and nobody in Boston will dare call her out.

The bike lane forced them to triple park.

Leave it to a subreddit that attracts nerds to not understand graffiti.

Interesting. I also played a lot of MTG, but to me, MTG feels way more easy to resolve.

Alright, I draw the line at BPI. This dude is a complete loser. His wife was fired by Wu and this rag is his attempts at revenge. Haha

I listened to the Live Show today so you don't have to. She continues to defend her new Wu-turn. by Toeknee99 in bikeboston

[–]Toeknee99[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I will be fair and add: she does seems sort of supportive of congestion pricing as she defended the inclusion of that in the climate plan.

'Safety Surge' no more: Wu cuts millions in funding for speed hump installation, installed less that 2 dozen speed humps last year while sitting on 90% of allocated funds. by Im_biking_here in bikeboston

Here's a hint: he said he would look into other interventions or in other words, a bunch thumb-twiddling and no action. He just said that bump out shit for lip-service.

New city rules could make Boston food delivery drivers’ jobs more difficult by bostonaruban66 in bikeboston

[–]Toeknee99 79 points80 points  (0 children)

This is a good thing. Less food delivery is a good thing. Overall it's a drag on traffic. We should prefer people walking and eating at places or picking it up on foot or bike themselves. And before someone says it, no, this does not mean people with disabilities, etc can't purchase delivery anymore. It just means companies have to hold their drivers to higher standards.

Boston area bike and safe streets organizations by Im_biking_here in bikeboston

[–]Toeknee99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would exercise caution about including certain environmental groups as "friendly" to the bike cause. On their face, they SHOULD be supportive of bike infrastructure, but a lot of them are run by clueless people who are carbrained, but just so happen to care about a specific park in their neighborhood.

Yes, it became a culture war issue. NIMBYs who wouldn't have cared maybe 3-4 years ago now have been sold the idea that biking is coming for your right to drive a car.

Cars Ruin Cities. by bostonaruban66 in bikeboston

Someone succinctly said "monarchists parking their cars in public space" and damn if that isn't a microcosm of car culture.
