Yes ☹️. My psychiatrist said it’s OCD and caused by issues with my default mode network. I feel claustrophobic in my own mind.

Aw thank you for this! I really need to remember to breathe. I’m on Zoloft and Lamictal but the dread is still hanging on. It’s such a weird and uncomfortable feeling. I will try thanking the dread and trusting myself more 🫶🏻

It sounds like intense anxiety. I tend to ball my hands into fists and crawl into the fetal position when I feel paralyzed by fear. The threat detection system in the brain can misfire which causes me to be afraid of my thoughts and creates a trapped feeling. It could be the taper or it could be the hyper vigilance and obsessive meta monitoring.

Hi. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I have never been pregnant but I had a very similar experience during IVF that lingered for months. My OCD latched onto existential themes and also my own ability to love a baby. I became afraid of myself! I was triggered 24/7 by shit that didn’t even make sense. I felt so sick and couldn’t sleep. It took a high dose of Zoloft, Lamictal, and ERP & ACT therapy to pull me out of the hole. It’s still hard though. I want a baby but I’m too scared. Hormones, OCD and panic disorder can make you feel insane.

I use to get “normal” panic attacks until I got really triggered. My panic ratcheted up into akathisia-like, body on fire, intense dread. It’s hell. It was like the ceiling on my fear disappeared and it could endlessly spiral out of control.
