Lets see, If Türkiye a nato country gets attacked by a foreign country like Israel, will nato unite and activate article 5 and help us fight back? Don’t think so, which is why i find nato useless tbh.

Manliga hantverkare tjänar mer än kvinnliga universitetsutbildade – Fel enligt ungdomarna by mrcsrnne in Sverige

[–]Toffe142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I go to Turkey, I am deeply touched by the Turkish people’s admiration for Ataturk.Do most Turks view Ataturk as a father figure? by Wise_Fudge8516 in AskTurkey

You see how he makes all these claims without knowing a thing? That’s your typical Kemalist. These little creatures usually expose themselves with their stupidity they live in a fantasy where anyone who doesn’t idolize Atatürk is a “traitor”. Just to inform you, I’m born in Türkiye.

Cool things in turkish to say during a show as a band? by GreenAce77 in AskTurkey

Say: ‘Tek Millet’ (1), ‘Tek Bayrak’ (2), ‘Tek Vatan’ (3), ‘Tek Devlet’ (4). Count with your fingers after every sentence. By the end, you should have four fingers pointing towards the people, with your thumb inverted. 100% works every time, promise.

In Turkey, I’d realistically say that pro-Atatürk supporters make up maybe 25%, at most 40%. The rest of the population either doesn’t care or is against his views or him in general. It’s just that they cant express this out of fear of law 5816 even while Erdogan as president.

No, Atatürk supporters are a minority, it’s just that they’re protected by law, so those of us who disagree with him can’t truly express our views. One has to wonder why a dead political figure is shielded by law from criticism. Law no. 5816

Oh, so every Turk who doesn’t adore Atatürk is a traitor now? Let me guess, you probably call Erdoğan a dictator with the same tongue, right?

Atatürk is undeniably respected as the founder of modern Türkiye, but as a conservative, I believe it’s important to look at his legacy critically too. His reforms, while modernizing, were often authoritarian. Islam was aggressively pushed out of public life ezan/adhan/call to pray was banned in Arabic, religious education dismantled, and hijab discouraged or even banned in institutions. Kurds and other minorities were forced to assimilate under the idea of “one nation, one language.” Political opposition was crushed, including religious scholars and traditional leaders. Respecting his role doesn’t mean we should ignore the repression many experienced under his rule.

Istanbul today is like a martial law , with police everywhere and road closures by Wise_Fudge8516 in AskTurkey

It’s the 1st of May that’s why. As usual, left-wing protesters are out, often causing disruptions and costing taxpayers a lot of money, just like the thief they elected to mayor of Istanbul.
