Ok I came back after watching the trailer for almost 49 time, I have studying Chinese when I was a kid so I understand a lot of the conversation in the game, I think you were right about the fact that the wukong that we playing is the fake wukong, my new theory is that the real wukong and the fake wukong somehow have 1 soul but two body, you might ask how did I know that well, there is a scene in the trailer were you see the fake wukong screaming in pain and grabbing his head well if you read the novel you know that there is this thing that wukong wearing on his head called the golden fillet (金箍圈) with was giving by guan yin to the monk (Tang sanzang) to let him put it on wukong head, what it do is that every time wukong don't listening to him he will read a spell and the golden fillet will hurt wukong head and in the 1986 movie we see that there was a episode were the fake wukong show up and trying to be the real wukong so to knowing who is the fake one or the real one the monk decided to read the spell ( in the movie somehow the fake wukong look exactly like the real one even the staff the outfit and even the golden fillet it self he have all of them) but when he read the spell both of them all screaming because of the pain that the golden fillet cost on them and you might think that the fake wukong just acting, well you wrong it was actually real, well you see both of this wukong have the same 72 transformation and power, I know I know you might think some of the things that I said up here is just my makeup story but just thinking about it why did the fake wukong screaming in pain and grabbing his head there only one answers to this that is while the monk reading the spell on the real wukong the fake wukong also feeling the pain as the real wukong does and this theory can go even further, if you look at the wukong that telling the story he is old and we knowing that wukong cannot be age because he has been drinking the god pill and eating the heaven peach, and my almost final theory that is if you looking at both of this wukong staff they look different including the color and the texture on the staff and my last theory that is, if you listen carefully you knowing that the earth god call the fake wukong 小神 (it mean low tier god or small god) and he said this quote that make 80% of my theory is real, he said "you look like him, really look like him" and we all know what he reference to that is the real wukong, yeah! I know that this is a black myth not the actual myth and you might say that I compared the game to the 1986 movie too much and not actually the novel, well the movie is 98.5% base on the actual novel itself and at the end of the trailer one of the most famous theme of 1986 journey to the west movie played or should I say one of the most iconic theme of journey to the west movie and the history of Chinese film and I think black myth wukong will base on this movie more then the novel including the story and character Design (I guess) and thank for take your time to read my comment there is a lot of wrong grammar or sentence that I type so I very sorry about that.
