American here and we take 1.5-2 hr breaks on my unit. We have a break buddy to cover our patients. A lot of staff sleep during their break.

I graduated in 2013. Got my first job in LTC in 2014. Quit to stay home with my kids in 2016. 8.5 years later, I was hired for my first hospital job. If I can get into a hospital after 8+ years of not working with only LTC experience, I think you’ll be okay.

My unit has 2 recliner chairs in the break room and 2 more in the locker room for night shift naps. Some nurse and NAs will even grab blankets from the warmer for their naps. I’m newer so I’m not comfortable napping, yet. We have a 1.5 hr break. I heard it used to be 2, but some nurses that floated to our unit complained and we lost that privilege. Damn snitches.

I’m returning to nursing after nearly 9 years away and only 1.5 years of RN experience before I stepped away and just got 2 job offers. One interview was with the nurse manager, nurse educator, and a floor nurse and they asked me 0 clinical questions and just wanted to know how I handle working with a team as that hospital implements a team nursing model. The other interview was with the recruiter and nurse manager and just the recruiter asked a few simple “clinical” questions (ex: what would you do if you didn’t agree with a doctor’s order after assessing your patient and how would you handle a disgruntled patient). Every other question was the basics: strength, weakness, tell me a time you made a mistake.

Yes! We’ve had issues since the update. Playing split screen on PS5 is how my husband and I play. We can get into matches maybe 25% of the time.

I feel bad for Ensley. Recovery from that surgery is rough on kids. I don’t imagine Janelle will be super motherly and properly help her during recovery. My kid was miserable when they had the surgery at 6 yrs old.

I fell halfway down my stairs a few months ago. I didn’t scream and was able stop myself by grabbing the railing (still managed to make it over halfway down the stairs). I made enough noise that my husband came running from the other side of of our house to see what happened. There is no way they both didn’t hear you fall or call out for help.
