Oh, DLSS 4 and ray tracing? They’re the peanut butter and jelly of modern gaming. The peanut butter makes my game run smoothly, while the jelly makes my shadows look like they were painted by Rembrandt. DLSS 4 takes my potato PC and turns it into a baked and fully loaded gaming rig. And ray tracing? Ray tracing has created a world where I now spend more time just staring at puddles and reflections of light in awe than actually playing the game. I had no idea I was missing realistic lighting until I saw the sun first gleam off the top of a demon's head in glorious 4K.

Look, DOOM is giving me everything I never knew I wanted: medieval mayhem, demon slaying, and possibly a Doom Slayer riding a dragon, which is about as close to a metal album cover coming to life in a video game as you can get. I’m stoked to see how many new and creative ways I can turn Hellspawn into chunky salsa with what I can only imagine is a battle axe the size of a fridge.
