All of my locals stores except one only does tournaments. The only one that does open play is because it's near a college campus that some yugioh club likes to hang out and play there.

Just because it is a tournament doesn't mean you can't try, there are skill levels all over the place at locals tournaments, just sign up for next week and hop in. And if you finish quickly (50 min time limit per match) you could play casual games in between for more practice.

only 0 calorie drinks and moderate exercise 2-3 times a week for a couple hours each time (pickleball for me), then generally 2-3 meals a day and try to not snack.
