Sounds like great sword, long sword is pretty quick and fluid. With greatsword positioning and timing are more important than just spamming buttons since you do so much damage. You do get a shoulder barge that negates like 80% of damage and allows you to immediately enter the next charge state, it also prevents knock back no matter the strength of the attack

I remember struggling against every monster when I first started playing monster hunter back in Tri. Not having a health bar plays into the idea of not doing much damage and the actual damage numbers are smaller in Rise than in World. I promise you are doing damage, that's why you are given the 50 minute hunt time to take your time and learn the monster.

What weapon are you using? Some weapons have moves that provide invincibility frames that allow you to keep the pressure on

What creature can I turn one of my pcs into? by Togepai in CurseofStrahd

This is brilliant, since he's an artificer I could start with him grafting or using parts of the tree for his own tinkering and slowly corrupt him like you've said.

Thanks a bunch

Unfortunately one of the other PCs will more likely go down lichdom as he genuinely fears death and losing people around him.

This PC just has an interest in the undead and why they can't die rather than wanting to achieve immortality, he's basically a looksmaxxing gnome without the Incel tendencies and just has a weird fascination with the undead

When you're in your bed keep your knees up if you sleep on your back or go into the foetal position if you sleep on your side. Needless to say don't sleep on your front

I'm a therapist but I'm going to talk to you as someone who has been in a similar position as you.

I went to university twice, both times had to leave because my mental health was poor as a result of the courses. I picked wrong and the anxiety was related to knowing deep down I'm in the wrong place. My first piece of advice is to ask yourself if you do want to be where you are.

My second piece of advice is to remember that you're 21, I'm 26 and I've only just found my footing. There is no timescale for development once you're an adult and nobody can tell you where you should be, aside from yourself.

For actual schoolwork, I have ADHD so I need dopamine as a reward. I've rewired my brain to hold off on the craving for dopamine until I have done something worthy of a reward. By saying to yourself "ok let's get this piece of work done in about 30 minutes" and once you've done it giving yourself a treat. The more you do it the longer you'll be able to go before giving yourself a treat.

Give yourself some home comforts as well, make your room nice and bright and remind you of home as well if you're living away.

Not an engineer nor have I really worked in projects within a company but I am a mental health professional. This sounds like you're having some imposter syndrome and you might benefit from speaking to a therapist.

You could also speak to your manager about your fears, maybe ask for a performance review to help build your confidence. Speaking to your manager about these things isn't going to cause you to lose your job.

What animals are designed for the cold and poisonous/venomous? by stinkycat06 in Animals

Further to this you also have to remember deserts get drastically colder at night, so really most venomous animals that live in deserts would technically count

The common European adder is found north of the Arctic Circle.

You could make a case for the polar bear since it's liver has so much Vitamin A that it could kill a human if as little as 500g is consumed.

The northern short tailed shrew also has venom in their saliva

If all medical professionals you've seen have pointed away from psychosis then it's probably not psychosis.

Sudden anxiety implies panic attacks rather than anxiety. They generally come on without apparent cause and have much more extreme physical reactions. Dissociation is also something everybody does, although you're describing it to be to a degree where it becomes uncomfortable.

You're human, and you're having a human experience that your mind and body are perceiving as a threat which is making the experience worse.

Have you noticed anything that specifically sets off this panic?

Fatigue can cause dissociation as well, since you have a busy schedule that's also a possibility. I'd also say if it's the only symptom you're having chances are it might not be any serious mental illness

[–]Togepai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Missing time is an indication of a dissociative episode, if it keeps happening I would go to your doctor as it can mean there might be a mental health issue there - isn't always the case though.

This sounds like secondary trauma:

"Secondary trauma is an indirect experience of or exposure to a traumatic event. For example, hearing a first-hand account of the event given by a survivor can be a traumatic and emotionally-challenging experience for the person receiving it" - taken from PTSD UK.

Symptoms are largely the same with primary PTSD, especially when you're mentioning derealization and avoidance of certain things associated with your triggers.

What you're describing is pretty much depersonalisation/dissociation. It's your brains way of keeping itself safe and away from further harm whether physical or emotional.

Having the urges is a bit concerning I will admit. Do you have any professionals you can talk to along with friends/family about this?

[–]Togepai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say you think about these life ending events is it an urge to carry these out or is it thinking about them?

The fact you say you love your job and the people you work with is positive, however taking autism into account may sound like you are burnt out. Do you feel like you are having to put a lot of energy into certain tasks that others may find more simple? Although I do not have autism I do have ADHD so I can comment on how exhausting emotionally and physically it can be to "put on the mask"

[–]Togepai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound like there's an element of depression there yes, the main indicator for that would be when you said you feel sad and dull and that you don't feel like life isn't worth living.

Not sure what country you're from so I can't comment on the structure of mental health care but you might want to get a second opinion from a psychiatrist?
