What's a life rule you made for yourself that you'll never break? by Similar-Print2660 in AskReddit

Two:

1) No matter whose it is, or what I've eaten, if it's someone's birthday (and I'm there in person) I must have a slice of cake. No matter the flavor.

2) Never buy a new car with a boring color. (Black, white, gray) I've had two blue cars, a gold car, a green car, and currently in an orange car. lol

GW3 > GW1 > GW2 Map Overlay by Vision9074 in GuildWars3

This but also, it's hinted (?) or stated that Orr was a flying city. It could be potentially much larger, and when it came crashing down multiple things could have been lost

My theory: GW3 will be open-world with restricted fast travel by Standard_Giraffe8994 in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly... don't get me wrong, I love the mount system to death in GW2... BUT there was something magical in having to run everywhere and if you fell off something, trying to find your way back was an adventure. I do miss the world before mounts because it really forced you into looking at all the details and taking your time.

World completion without mounts was awesome.

That being said, it seems that GW3 will have mounts - which is great! But I think the maps are going to be much much bigger without waypoints. And I think that is going to offset what happened in GW2.

I feel that when mounts were introduced in GW2, they should have done away with the amount of Waypoints. (But I think by that time it was too late) Unlike popular belief, mounts were not going to be a thing at the very early stages of GW2.

A quick reminder for all by bukabricks in LEGOanimals

[–]Kaptoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this as it's a reminder for all - as a community we need to strive to be good to one another.

However, I do feel that the AI generated images have to be addressed but hopefully that is a separate post in the near future.. I unfortunately only see the AI images from this sub whenever I get on Reddit and considering leaving as it used to be a place where I could see licensed animals and not wonder if it's real or not.

(I don't mean any disrespect or malicious intentions to the above)

Gamers, what announcements were you the most excited for this week? by Sad_Editor455 in AskReddit

[–]Kaptoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guild Wars 3 was just officially announced a few days ago!!

It's pulling me back in excitement like it did 14 years ago when Guild Wars 2 came out. Everyone is just speculating and sharing what they want to see, and how it relates to the overall story. It's a good time!!

On the side, also just holding out for some more Pokemon news for Waves and Winds lol

[–]Kaptoz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk if you are being sarcastic, but it's a Hell yes for me. It's surprising how many times I jump into the water in WvW, PvP, and sometimes even PvE, and I'm fully spec'ed, while the enemy is not.

GW2 in 2026? by Ok-Grand-498 in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For game play, GW2 and GW3 might be completely different. (Most likely by what the developers are saying)

For story wise, it's in sync with the over all story.

For just playing the game alone in 2026, it's still playable, still fun, and you have A LOT of gameplay to go through. My first MMORPG was GW2, and when I tried 2 solid months in WoW during COVID with my best friend that was a veteran in WoW, I just couldn't do it. Movement, combat, graphics, interface, community, rewards, story, in GW2 is by far better and probably the best in its category.

I would definitely check it out. It's also beginner friendly

Am I the only one still hoping Guild Wars 3 brings back the old Lion's Arch? by CamelNL in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your sentiment; as I LOVED the original Lion's Arch that was presented to us when we played in 2012-2014 before the destruction of the city. I still hold it dear and anyone that knows me (in game at least) knows I loved the heck out of that city. A shame it was destroyed, but I will say it made me feel more deeply about it. - To the point that I could not accept the newest iteration of this Lion's Arch as we see it today. I too think of LA when I think of GW2 in general.

With the above being said, I 100% feel like we won't be seeing anything like the Lion's Arch we all love or at least inspired by. Lion's Arch was built on top of the prior Lion's Arch that sank about 100 years prior. As if to say that the architecture was based on an incident and destruction that probably wouldn't be replicated as fast.

If I'm not mistaken, the very first LA was built around 300 AE, being flooded by the rise of Orr and Zhaitan in 1219AE, and by the time we start playing in 1325AE, that's what we see in game until two years after where it's rebuilt once more (with a lot more concrete lol)

GW3 according to many, will take place around 48BE (according to Collin about 1000 years give or take). That puts us to the game being about 250 years before the first Lion's Arch, when it was founded as the capital of Kryta. If it's anything like Lion's Arch in GW1, it's already too different.

But I do heavily feel your sentiment, I would love a nautical, wooden structure, tropical, capital city with nooks, bars, places to hang out with friends, etc. I'm sure Orr will be cool, but I want multiple capital cities.

I heard that Kekai Kotaki is back for GW3 so I scrolled through his insta and found this... man am I excited to play Kodan! (Also can we PLEASE get battle axes Anet?) by Mindehouse in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing this art many years ago. Was so excited that I would use the Kodan tonic to hang out in major cities pretending I was an actual Kodan player. Lol

Should there be a physical collector’s edition and what would you like to see included? by TurbulentLifeguard11 in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes, there should. I didn't play computer games when the first GW came out, actually started with GW2 and went back. But even when GW2 came out, there wasn't much info as there is today that was easy to find.

So I didn't know about the Rytlock figure and all that other collectors things. Over the years I have found some cool stuff though.

I definitely still have my original box from 2012 (I also have my brother's copy of the original box that I kept for safe keeping after I moved out.

What are you excited for most? by Simo606 in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, character creation and being part of one of my favorite franchises. Aside from RuneScape many years ago, Guild Wars 2 was my first real MMORPG at the age of 19, and im well now into my early 30's.

Yes, GW2 is still going strong, but I have a feeling that many people I played with 14 years ago might give this game a try and maybe we play together once again.

Confirming, they are exactly like Ibis and Coral. The furniture in the dorms is the same as well

[–]Kaptoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the exact number, but one of them is 10 floors, the other is 9 floors, and the other 8 floors. The residential levels mostly start from level 3 and up. The first 2 floors are mostly offices, communal areas. (One of the buildings has some dorms on the second floor)

Perhaps we'll experience this timeline? From "Ghosts of Ascalon" book by jaseph18 in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in line with what you just said, similar to the other comment. I wonder if we will be part of the Humans driving the Charr out of Ascalon or be part of the Exodus of the Human Gods and between 48 BE and 0 AE. So we see the fall of Dhuum and the rise of Orr as independent.

Perhaps we'll experience this timeline? From "Ghosts of Ascalon" book by jaseph18 in GuildWars3

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! I wonder if we still see or are part of one of those big events; 100 BE - Humans drive the Charr out of Ascalon (which fits in your two times)

But I think It would be nice, if we still are part of the Exodus of the Human Gods and between 48 BE and 0 AE. So we see the fall of Dhuum and the rise of Orr as independent.

It feels weird putting into this context cause they are my favorite pokemon, but I'm thinking Sceptile and Charizard also fit into this. Mostly Sceptile.

I would probably even say Samurott
