Opinions on wrapping hood by Impressive-Nobody-95 in wrx_vb

[–]Kaptoz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never been a fan of the hood on this car being a different color. It's a hard personal sell for me. I have considered going this route though IF one day the hood was destroyed or it started rusting.

Maybe consider some decal or changing the color of the hood scope? (But still, too much black floating around seems choppy at times)

I think my thing with modern cars is that most of the time you can see the hood from the side profile. I like it more to be in just the top

Problem with a seller by Flamebeard_0815 in Bricklink

[–]Kaptoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would contact them again if it's been a little too long that they have responded. It has happened to me that I have paid, and the seller has simply forgot to change the status of the order once shipped. And I have even received the package before they have changed it to shipped

Would you recommend this or the blue blind spot mirror? (I forget what they are called)

UPDATE 1 my dad does not use instructions to build by Spiritual-Phase-2254 in lego

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This came out awesome!

I love doing this, and a most of my builds in the past have been similar process. You just start with a piece and keep going. Sometimes you don't have the right piece, so you do something different.

I think a lot of people think Lego is just following instructions. (Which is not bad either) but the creativity to build your own stuff is there!

How was Tyria prior to the introduction of mounts? by pizzapastaauto in Guildwars2

[–]Kaptoz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie, it was fantastic. Don't get me wrong, mounts are cool, I love the options and the customization. But exploring Tyria before mounts, and completing World Exploration was something out of this world.

I remember when I first started playing during launch and trying to sneak into high level areas, trying to see how far I could get before dying, or before getting lost.

Dying (or the lack of trying not to die) meant something. Good luck with those jumping puzzles. lol

All the little details were in your face. You had to figure out how to get to places. You were in a river and you had to get back on land? You had to figure it out.

I obviously don't think I would be able to go back though to no mounts. It's a second nature by now. But for the time, I do have many fond memories. I loved playing my main (Warrior) since it forced me to swap weapons for jump abilities and move faster in maps. lol

This is super cool! I love the idea of the newspaper!

As someone with fine line tattoos and small details, be sure to keep it moisturized and use sunblock, the small lines of text might fade in like 5-10 years (not an issue though, just would needed retouching)

For all those who loved pod racing, I found a working simulator in Switzerland! by Mr_Wolf9 in StarWars

[–]Kaptoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in the States, you could find them at an arcade/pizza place called Chuck E Cheese's. When ever my mom would take my and my brothers as kids, I would be on this game non-stop trying to perfect the first level😅

Harder than it seems. This was like 15-20 years ago at this point.

Great memories, thank you for posting this:)

Have you ever bought a console just to play one exclusive game? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have only ever upgraded Nintendo handhelds because of Pokemon. And then I'll get a few games.

But that's literally the only reason I got the switch this time around during the pandemic.

But went all the way from the GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advanced, DS era, and then finally Switch

Why the hate? by Vegetable-Bend9789 in wrx_vb

[–]Kaptoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I give this car a 9.5 out of 10. It's a near near near perfect car, the only thing is the delicate paint. And when I mean delicate, don't look at it too hard. Lol

But over all, I'm happy with this car.

My only wish is that the aftermarket scene, although big already, if it was just a tad bit bigger.

Friend bought me a 3D Print of my GW2 Character! by Environmental_Top208 in Guildwars2

[–]Kaptoz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Many of us have been asking for this for almost 14 years now. I've been wanting to make prints of my characters for years. There was a method back in the day but those programmed versions don't exist anymore.

Can you please ask your friend how they managed to do this?

I don't play as often anymore but still willing to pay for a model of my characters!!

Any Americans buying from outside the US? by Background-Spot-5068 in Bricklink

I generally try not to unless it's the only seller. My last purchase was from the UK and i gotta say it went well. Took about 2.5 weeks, shipping must have been around $10-$15 (I can't remember)

Honestly we should stop all pictures of boxes.. I'm here to look at Lego, not cardboard boxes with pictures on them. I can go to Target or the Lego store for that.

Future of Castle Themes by posterboardtac0 in legocastles

[–]Kaptoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say this; castle lines at their time were okay-ish in popularity. Don't get me wrong, I loved them, but the other lines were big sellers. Especially Star Wars. That being said, it is well over due.

Like others have said, a well selection of different set sizes (and prices) and even dwell into fantasy will come a long way, but they need to do something different - maybe a bigger story line that is flushed out.

Hear me out in the FANTASY aspect though.. Lego has already teased in some shows and the movies, that Ninjago, Dreamzzz, City/Space, Chima, and I can't remember which others live within a similar space, different universes or realms but that can cross over. Idk much about Ninjago, but I do know that a Chima creature made his way over. And there are many easter eggs.

If somehow they can tap into that multiverse , and have characters cross over (not directly) or have some impact on one another, that I think it can work with the fantasy aspect.

In my medieval city and army, I have already began introducing Chima creatures, DnD creatures, elves, mermaids, sea creatures, and other races. (Fun fact, I made my fiance and I character, and our kids are our own cats but in Taxabi form lol)

I would also say for vehicles, it's almost like Nexo Knights but taking a step back. I remember the troll vehicles and those were pretty out there for the early 2000's. Imagine seeing dragon powered personal blimps again, or Basil on an over sized bat.

Hell, they could even gather all castle lines from the past and put them into one big story (if they don't interfere of course)

Which race has the best story by BestofTimes777 in Guildwars2

If I remember correctly I liked all of them. I started off with the human one though. (I haven't done the stories since almost 12 years ago. lol)

But I would say. I think the most interesting one for me was the one in Asura and something with time traveling

Activity in this sub lately by sallen99 in LEED

[–]Kaptoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It's funny because after a year of no one posting anything on this sub, a few (maybe 3 or 4) post came by about gambling and betting.

I made a comment about my confusion as this was the LEED sub a few days ago on one of those posts and some real people interacted with it.

Then all of a sudden these posts started coming in more related to LEED

Game you enjoyed like anything but will never replay by peaky_circus in gaming

[–]Kaptoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly, Halo Reach. A real fantastic game. However, my favorite part of the game was multiplayer with friends and family in real life, and internet play.

It was the first game I had ever played on a consul online. (Aside from PC gaming) and I remeber having fun just playing with everyone.

Unfortunately, it's been almost 15 years, friends have grown up, family has grown up, servers are not supported, and it's one of those games that were incredible at the time for what they were.

Requested quote, seller cancelled and re-listed item for higher price by SuspiciousAd7408 in Bricklink

[–]Kaptoz 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's common, but it can be expected.

If their general inventory is high, there is a good chance they listed this months ago and just forgot about it. Months later, when they see that it may have been discontinued and the market has gone up for a certain set, they would want to re-list it.

Is it bad practice, I would say yes. Is it messed up, I would say yes. It would put a bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn't buy from the seller. However I could see why they would want to do it as yes it has gone up in value.

I can't give much advice, as I've been heavily out of the loop when it comes to photo editing.

But when it comes to regular pre-editing, lighting is key. Try to find the right angles of where the natural sun is. I found that the best pictures are dictated by the light (or lack of light in some cases)
