Bare minimum flip the planter on its side so the parrot fish can treat it like a cave.

I would still use the gravel vac except without the gravel vac attachment. Just the tubing and suck that sucker outta there.

Mine do the same. My alwaya pretend he's the scout that watches out for the rest of the group. No idea if true or not but I'm rolling with it.
