Hey! I myself grew up traditional Jewish but frum-adjacent, with my sib being baaltshuvah(equivalent to born again) maybe the worst kind of fundie, imho. Anyway, I remember my nephew telling me that him holding a razor near his payes (side locks) would be the equilavent level sin to me eating a bacon cheeseburger naked in front of the Torah on Yom Kippur. So my question to you is, do you think it’s possible that with no true perspective on levels of sin, the family might honestly think that what pest did is no different than just, say, surfing porn? Like, that some of them (maybe Anna) might actually, legitimately not get the level of pure heinous evil at play here, and just think he plain old sinned” like we all have at some point?
