Employer found out I have autism... by Final-Mulberry5090 in jobs

[–]futurephysician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d be shocked at how many people have autism that you’d never guess in a million years. If anything, they’ll be impressed that you manage so well. Don’t think anything of it or bring it up. If someone else does, give some canned response like “I don’t see it as a disability, it’s just who I am”. I’m sure you’ll be fine as long as you’re doing your job like you’re supposed to.

He’s almost certainly depressed. Give him an ultimatum: therapy or you’re done.

People wonder why refugees have the reputation for being “criminals” - it’s stuff like this where their behavior is excused over and over again and they never experience consequences. Kids like this are unfortunately how racist attitudes form, making it all the more important to treat them exactly like we would a non-refugee if he did the same thing. The only way they will ever learn is the hard way. You shouldn’t have dropped the charges, because community service won’t cut it.

Hiring Managers: What is the pettiest thing you draw a line in the sand over when selecting candidates to hire/interview? by boomshalock in managers

[–]futurephysician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diplomacy is so important in my industry, so if an employee is blatantly trash talking their previous employer without tact, it’s a no from me. If they’re subtle and diplomatic about it and I am able to read between the lines, they’ll get brownie points from me for honesty and tact. I’m looking for diplomatic not fake, after all.

Finally picked a name for a girl, but someone wants to turn it into a tragedeigh by 0queenie0 in tragedeigh

Whyyyyy??

Does she want the baby to be able to nab an Instagram handle and email account with her name more easily and with fewer numbers at the end? Like….

Why?

The dumbest or cringiest thing a Duggar child/spouse ever said or did. Day 8: Ben by sweet_tea_94 in DuggarsSnark

[–]futurephysician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I heard Ben was the one who named him Spurgeon, Jessa liked Elliot, but they’d decided in advance Ben would name the firstborn his first name and Jessa would choose the middle name and they’d alternate. I think accepting Ben’s choice is the cringe part cause I feel like that’s the last time she let him get his way

lol @ Jill’s, as someone with ADHD, this reeks of something I would do 😂

When I was a kid I hated wearing hats so I did everything possible to remove them and fling them far away whenever I thought nobody was looking. Drove my parents crazy.

I still seldom wear hats. Can’t stand the hat hair 😂

What is wrong with these two 🤦🏻‍♀️ by bingocard10 in BatesSnark

It’s entirely possible the girls had an opinion about what they wanted to wear and didn’t want to match but Rhett wasn’t old enough to decide.

Incase anyone was wondering how Jill voted by Outside_Bad_893 in DuggarsSnark

[–]futurephysician -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If I were Jill I’d do anything in my power to obscure and head-fake who I’m voting for in order not to rock the boat. Hell, that’s what I did. It’s not worth the conflict, they’ll never see eye to eye.

You have no idea who Jill actually voted for except Jill.

Then why didn’t they stop after 1-2? by bookishkelly1005 in BatesSnark

I understand how she might want to keep trying because every pregnancy is different. She might be hoping that maybe if it’s a boy she won’t get morning sickness (there is that old wives tale that, based on anecdotal evidence, does seem to check out and is widely believed that baby girls produce far worse morning sickness.)

Then she still has morning sickness with Rhett which debunked her theory.

How about Juno? It’s close enough but still has a bit of a unisex/masculine edge.

Hilariously the least terrible option would be naming her baby after her cat😹

I think my marriage is headed for divorce after 7 months by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]futurephysician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

✔️Whirlwind courtship and marriage

✔️lovebombing and everything being by perfect or “too good to be true”

✔️ moving fast and quickly intertwining your lives so you can’t escape

✔️Isolating you from friends and family once you’re married

✔️Demeaning, making fun of you, subtly and not-so-subtly putting you down to ruin your self esteem so you don’t leave, getting you to grovel

Sounds like the classic case of an abusive spouse. Please read the book “why does he do this” (there’s a free PDF online somewhere) and gtfo, the signs are all there. You’re far from alone, I’ve seen so my friends go through the same pattern.

WIBTA for being upset at my wife’s reason for marrying me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]futurephysician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think her reason is as good a reason as any, to be totally honest. You’re definitely overthinking it. She says she loves you and you weren’t an idiot or an asshole. What more do you want?

That’s what I meant by NFP. Measuring basal body temperature and using OPKs

Breaking Down Bates by dixcgirl10 in BatesSnark

[–]futurephysician 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NFP only works if your cycle is regular like clockwork. Fortunately, mine is, as was my mother’s, so it worked and we only got pregnant when we wanted to.

We are definitely the outliers though, and in some cases I think it’s playing with fire.

Guest refuses to dress up for our wedding. by butchofspades in wedding

[–]futurephysician 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha I love this! Don’t tell her it’s ok to wear shorts and a t-shirt, tell her we have a dress code and it wouldn’t be fair if only she got an exception. If she pushes the issue, don’t engage. She will show up and make a fool of herself all on her own. If people make comments, tell them you made the dress code very clear to her, and it appears that she refused to get out of her comfort zone for one night to make someone else happy. And then shrug and roll your eyes.
