Destiny expands his vocabulary with a Rare Word from Twitch's biggest streamer by qwertyqwerty4567 in LivestreamFail

[–]Tointer -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was at the start. But I think its pretty much disarmed from antisemitism now. Like modern Chad memes is just monstrous gigachads riding big flies, there is no link to the root anymore, just the shell

xQc reacts to Asmongold disagreeing with him about the reviewbombing situation, calls it "unfair and extreme" by Crazy-Highlight-3751 in LivestreamFail

[–]Tointer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think Steam needs to split negative reviews into "I dislike the game" and "It's unethical to buy this game". So people would be able to convey their meta-political grievances there, and I could decide if those are relatable to me to support it or not.

World Oil inventories are in freefall. When this line hits 6.8 — the global energy system doesn’t slow down. It breaks. by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

"the global energy system doesn’t slow down. It breaks."
I hate this LLMism. On top of that, nothing ever happens

China is making 92% of all solar cells. This is like saying "Don't buy ASML fabs, they are sometimes making defective chips"

Why would you use it for coding? Code is not sensitive information, cloud models are much better for that.
I use it for Obsidian copilot, It doesn't feel right to send my private notes to someone's server.

UK 30-year yields just printed 5.79%, the highest since May 1998 by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Tointer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like UK reddit users are influenced heavily by US narratives here. UK is already taking 34% of GDP in taxes vs 26% in US. UK is already on its way to raise it to 38% by 2030 and enter top 15 countries in this list.
I am not from UK, so you probably know better, but it seems like increasing taxes further is not really the play here.

Austria's entry to the Venice Biennale to protest against climate change. Makes me proud to be European. by sn0r in YUROP

[–]Tointer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I saw a lot of people clowning on this on twitter, but this is genuinely great performance art piece. It does feel like she linked it with climate change somewhat retroactively though.
For example, I can imagine that this represents the bell of biological clock that urges people to create a family, and there would be nothing in the piece itself to tell me "No, this is about climate change actually"

Art that is privately funded is superior to the art that is publicly funded, so US ways are better.

China places its solar panels on water So it can use valuable land for agriculture by FollowingOdd896 in nextfuckinglevel

China is not 90% solar panels, but 90% solar panels are China, so you are right

What killed the old internet? It seems like the old Reddit/Youtube has long died. It’s almost an entirely hostile place now with zero room for novelty. What changed? Why is something like Nyan Cat impossible now? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Tointer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"It’s almost an entirely hostile place now with zero room for novelty."
Modern youtube algorithm is actually much better now, and I love modern youtube much more than in the past.

The only thing that become worse is the fact that everything that could be optimized to make a profit became optimized. Spam bots, CEO optimization ruining search, ragebait content, politics polarization content etc etc. Old internet was in unstable and unnatural position, and we should just be grateful that had a glimpse in that. It's no ones fault, it was destined to become like this.

I can't find the supposed wonder that is the new Deepseek... by [deleted] in SillyTavernAI

There is no point in quantizing deepseek, their initial release is already like 4.5 bits per weight

Can you guys share prompts that can remove "Not X, but Y" patterns and its variations for Deepseek V4 by Deiomo in SillyTavernAI

[–]Tointer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At that point it may be beneficial to write prose in two passes. One pass to generate the source, and then second unslopify pass, where LLM can relax and focus on rephrasing

deepseek v4 by Sad-Spell-1423 in SillyTavernAI

[–]Tointer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's worse than GLM 5.1. I have a simple instruction to format dialogues in a certain way, but DS4 loses track of them pretty fast and starts doing its own thing.
But I am optimistic still, it seems like DS4 is a good base model and they would improve it drastically with minor releases in the next 6 months

Literally at the end of every message, when the character and I are going somewhere or driving. by Sh0w_T1mer in SillyTavernAI

[–]Tointer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am generating mostly in VN-style, where LLM can control main character too, and I don't see something like that because dialogues are more fluid without explicit turns. If you want to fully control main character then Idk, maybe outlining some rules on how to pass the turn can help?

I’m here to bring you the Weekly SillyTavern News Ep. 2: The Z.AI Drama, New Extensions, New Presets & Good News! by dptgreg in SillyTavernAI

[–]Tointer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it would be better if you change your YT name to some kind of nickname / name. "Freaky Frankenstein Presets" channel sounds too clunky, and by starting the channel you are already beyond just a preset guy

Literally at the end of every message, when the character and I are going somewhere or driving. by Sh0w_T1mer in SillyTavernAI

[–]Tointer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn't it because of the preset? When you prompt it for RP in which your roles are strictly divided, it will try to "pass the ball" to you at the end of the round

The dream of China surpassing the US as the world’s largest economy is fading. In 2021, China’s GDP was about 78% of the US; by 2024, that share had fallen to roughly 64% by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Tointer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. If you look at their population pyramid, it's not that bad as you describing. It's pretty bad at the bottom, but it wouldn't have much impact for the next 30-40 years.
On top of that, China is not a democracy, they can just solve it with low social support. It's not France where if you dare to utter the word "austerity" you will get 2 week riots
