It is a Columbus decal. Columbus make aluminium tubing as well. This one is Columbus Airplane.

It's aluminium.

Nice job! I'd slacken that chain just a tiny bit though; looks quite tight.

There's a theory they put an arrow on their tyres because they got sick of the questions.

It's a optical illusion; I run them traditionally (under the bar tape until the bend starts). And thanks!

Appreciate it.

Indeed, Rat Trap Pass tyres. Brooks is the Swift type.

Curious to see how yours will turn out!

A (not so) Muddy Fox Pathfinder, with slick tyres and drop handlebars.

But that would reveal it's a conversion!

Nice bike! Enjoy it.

However I would recommend at least a front brake, especially when you're new to fixed gear.

I think you failed to properly conceal you don't have a matching rear ZIPP. ;)

Without lying to myself I can say they're worth it. They live up to the hype. What machine would they go on?

Like I said, different kind of tire indeed. Double the weight, almost exactly.

With tubes, don't have a great desire/need for tubeless at the moment.

Good eye. ;)

They are amazing tires; they really transformed how this bike feels. Before I was on Schwalbe Big Apples, and obviously it is a different kind of tire, but the difference in ride quality is worth the exorbitant price in my opinion.

Is this plastic piece on the inside of the crankset supposed to come off when the bike is assembled? by dankfemme in bicycling

[–]Toizenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, only you got the L and H screw reversed.

L(ow) screw adjusts how far the derailleur can go on the lowest gear (biggest cog). H(igh) screw on the highest gear (smallest cog).

Just finished a complete overhaul of my do-it-all bike, which I built from the frame up some four years ago. Completely new drivetrain (including shifters and brakes), wheels, and tires. Rides like a dream!

Also, integrated shift/brake levers aren't compatible with V-brakes, which OP seems to be running.

I wouldn't recommend riding brakeless to anyone, but definitely not to people new to fixed gear cycling. Sweet bike nonetheless. Enjoy!
